How We Met

We first matched on a dating app in San Francisco in October 2018. Our “first date” was supposed to be a quick drink before heading to a Halloween Drake after-party… which started with us accidentally going to two different bars. (To this day, neither of us will admit who messed up.) Once we finally found each other, the night turned effortless. Drake never showed up, but we wandered the venue talking until 3 a.m. Somehow, two people who grew up just 15 minutes apart in New Hampshire had to travel 3,000 miles to meet each other.

SF to Denmark

We moved to Denmark in the spring of 2021 to begin our master’s degrees in mechanical engineering, excited for a new city, new people, and a new chapter together. Instead, our first few months were spent in strict lockdown, getting to know Copenhagen mostly through long walks, home-cooked meals, and bike rides to nowhere in particular. As things reopened, we found our rhythm and most importantly, our people. Joining the local frisbee club introduced us to some amazing humans from all over the world, and gave us not just a team but a community. Practices turned into "just one beverage", tournaments became an excuse to explore, and little by little Copenhagen began to feel like home. Over the next three years, we balanced studying with biking everywhere, spending countless evenings on the frisbee field, and traveling all over Europe whenever we could. It wasn’t the start we expected, but it became one of the most meaningful chapters of our lives; proof that we can build a home and a community anywhere, as long as we’re together.

Today

Today we’re back on the East Coast building our life together in New England; close to family, close to home, and surrounded by the people who shaped us. After years of moving, studying, traveling, and growing side by side, it feels good to put down roots. We still fill our days with the same things that brought us together: adventures big and small, getting up to goofy shenanigans, thrift shopping, weekend trips, and plenty of frisbee. And now, we’re so excited to take the next step surrounded by our closest friends and family. We can’t wait to celebrate this moment with you all and start the next chapter - together.
