If you find that your questions have not been answered here, please send an email to the bride and groom at blakeanddaniellewedding@gmail.com
Question

Are the ceremony and reception in the same location?

Answer

Yes! We will be having the wedding ceremony and reception at The Glasshouse at River Oaks. A socializing hour will immediately follow the ceremony. The reception will be held following the socializing hour and continue until the bride and groom's send off at 9 pm.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Pending weather, our plan is to have the wedding ceremony outside in the fabulous garden area of The Glasshouse. The socializing hour immediately following the ceremony will be held in the ballroom and deck of the venue, and the reception is planned to be held in the glasshouse.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

The deadline to RSVP is January 31st, a bit over one month before the big day! We would love to hear if you can commit to making it to our special day sooner if possible. Please note that if there is no RSVP by this date, then your invitation will be marked as an automatic regrets.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

You are nearly at the right place! You can RSVP on this website by clicking on the RSVP tab and entering your name. All the information should appear from there for you to complete your RSVP! If a single invitation was sent for your household, all children will be included on the parents' RSVP information.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Due to capacity constraints, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing any children that are not included on your RSVP. If you believe there has been a mistake with this, please contact the bride or groom. For the kiddos that can make it, we ask that you try to keep your little ones in one place during the ceremony to minimize disturbances, but we invite them to be as loud as they want during the dancing portion of the reception.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Please plan to wear formal attire - meaning no jeans or t-shirts. Other than that, show up as you are - just no white dresses for the ladies. Ideas for what to wear include floor-length sundresses and formal midi-dresses for the ladies and dress pants with a button shirt and sports jacket for the gentlemen. As a reminder, pending weather the ceremony will be outside. Please keep this in mind when determining what you would like to wear and jacket options. Our colors for the wedding are sage green, cream, and different shades of purple. While you don’t need to match the wedding colors, please keep in mind that the decor will be these colors so pastels and muted tones would match best if you are interested in matching the decor. Due to the tendency of weather in March in Missouri to fluctuate frequently, we recommend bringing a jacket or shawl for dresses during the outdoor ceremony. The ballroom and glasshouse for the socializing hour and reception are both climate controlled and will not be subject to seasonal weather changes.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please plan on being in your seat promptly at 3 pm for the start of the ceremony. You may wish to arrive earlier to socialize or leave a message in our guestbook. We recommend arriving around 2 or 2:30 pm to do this. No worries if you arrive just on time! We will have a socializing hour immediately following the ceremony so you can visit friends and stop by the guestbook before the reception.

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes! The Glasshouse has a full parking lot to accommodate our wedding guests. Park wherever you would like, but please know that the entrance to the venue is through the clubhouse, so you may want to park near this entrance. We will have people able to direct you where to go from the front entrance for the wedding ceremony in the lawn and gardens. Given the availability of parking on site, shuttles to and from the venue will not be provided.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We are in the process of reserving hotel blocks or discounts at three locations: The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Grandview, Hyatt Place Kansas City/Overland Park/Convention Center, and Springhill Suites by Marriott in Overland Park Leawood. These hotels are all near The Glasshouse, within 20 minutes, and have different price points to accommodate all guests' budgets for attending the ceremony. As these get confirmed, a travel tab will be visible on the website with the hotel's information, discount code, and the cut off date for booking your room if applicable. There will be limited availability, so please call as soon as possible to reserve your room once these hotel blocks are finalized. If you prefer an AirBnB for accommodations, please use the venue's address to find multiple places to stay within a 1 mile radius of the venue.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

Unless specified on your invitation or RSVP information, please do not plan on bringing a plus one. We have allotted for a specific number of guests and do not have additional space.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you keep photos to a minimum during the ceremony as our photographers and videographers will be hard at work to deliver memories from our special day. If you see them nearby, please refrain from taking photos until they have moved on to prevent phones from being in their shot.

Question

What if I have food allergies or restrictions?

Answer

All the food will be properly labeled with food allergens and prepared separately by our catering team. We do not anticipate food allergies or restrictions should be an issue for guests, but please feel free to reach out to the bride or groom if you are still concerned. There will be gluten-free, nut-free, and pork-free options for our guests with allergen or religious restrictions.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Since we have decided on having a dry wedding, there will be no alcohol served on the premises. Please feel free to enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly and at your own time prior to or following the wedding and reception. Please note that the venue has a strict no outside alcohol policy and will remove individuals with outside alcohol from the premises if discovered.

Question

Where can I find the wedding registry?

Answer

Our registry is linked to our website. We have three separate registries that are all merged here (Zola, Amazon, and Etsy). You can purchase your chosen gift and either ship it to yourself or send it to us directly for us to receive before the wedding. The address to send it to is provided in the registry and can be applied when you checkout. If the gift you have chosen requires personalization, we have either pre-entered all the information to be applied at checkout or have left a note with the item to guide you through entering the information. Please reach out to the bride or groom if you experience any issue purchasing your gift.
