Camp Counselors

Also known as our wedding party!

Kahla Sorich

outdoor activities counselor

Alexa and Kahla have been blazing trails together since they were crawling, and as twin sisters, they’ve been mostly inseparable their whole lives, whether it be hiking up both coasts, backpacking through Europe, or living right next to each other in their corner of Colorado. Kahla’s superpower is kindness, although she’s also proficient at graphic design, “living tiny,” and stealing Alexa’s wardrobe.

Dayna McRoberts

camp mixologist

Dayna is the younger, wiser sister. She knows more about tequila, Harry Potter, and training high anxiety dogs than you do, but don’t worry, she’s not competitive (she is). Don’t let her trail name Snake Bite fool you, though, Dayna’s superpower is caring about everything and everyone too much and knowing how to use her wit and humor to ease any awkward situation.

Joanna Mast

camp nurse

Alexa found Joanna trying to light a forest fire in the backwoods of Georgia, nicknamed her “Fire Hazard,” and hasn’t let her out of her sight ever since. Their adventures together consist of hiking or skiing Colorado mountains, finishing a 1,000 piece puzzle, and corralling dogs. Joanna's superpower is being dependable; when you skin your knee during capture the flag, come find her.

Jen Peterson

games & activities counselor

Alexa and Jen met in preschool, and the good times have been rolling ever since, through soccer practices, youth groups, hot tub/trampoline sessions and even (actual) summer camps together. Jen exudes warmth and charisma, and can befriend just about anyone. Jen has two superpowers: compassion, and keeping the party going.

Ally Helmick

audio & visual counselor

Sight unseen, Ally agreed to be Alexa’s freshman year roommate, and fortunately had the patience to endure illegal hamsters, forts, and hallway gymnastics. In fact, Ally’s superpower is patience (except when it comes to the Steelers); she also excels at selling you Chewy supplies and being a fashionista (with a unique style).

Lea Cifranick-McFadden

theater & dance counselor

Lea lived next door to the hamsters and the forts and joined in for the hallway gymnastics; she added to the mix a propensity for dance routines and fits of uncontrollable giggling. Lea’s superpower is generosity, and as such, she may rescue the dog out of your yard and have homemade gluten-free donuts in her cabin to share.

Jeremy Konar

hunting & fishing counselor

Rochester, New York’s prodigal son (I’m assuming), Jeremy and Will often got confused for each other from afar during college, for some reason (it’s the beards), although it helped that they were usually next to each other. Jeremy enjoys catching one fish at a time (highly inefficient), brewing and consuming anything that’s not a hazy IPA, and listening to better music than you.

Jeremy Sherer

Camp Counsel

All the way from Potomac, Maryland, Jeremy collected Will from the other side of the hall on the first day of college, and gently tucked him under his wing, a position from which Will could not escape (nor did he want to). Jeremy enjoys chickens that kick, collecting Sam Adams varieties, and early-2000s singer-songwriters.

Adam Morgan

water sports counselor

A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Adam and Will met in line for a chairlift at Vail, and instantly bonded when Adam said “I’m from Massachusetts” and Will said “I’m from Maine,” even though the states have been bitter rivals since 1820. Adam enjoys tuning skis; not wearing his goggles; and watching people watch Game of Thrones, since he read the books.

Doug Sperling

grounds keeper

Doug and Will have family connections you wouldn’t believe. Proudly from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Doug suffers from the worst FOMO in the world, making him an ideal adventure buddy (he always says yes!). Doug enjoys listening to Harry Potter audiobooks, not texting you back, and hot tubs.

Jake Derector

camp cook

Also from Bath, Maine, Jake and Will forged a lasting friendship in the depths of a natural foods store, as one does, and grew up talking about how lame Maine was and how eager they were to leave (they were wrong). Jake enjoys James Bond movies, third wave ska music, and cozy flannel shirts.

Sean McRoberts

arts & crafts counselor (CIT)

Sean is the youngest out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and does his best to hold his own in a family of powerful, opinionated women. Sean enjoys living with his sisters, winning awards at senior art shows, and being late for work when Will is his boss.

Sam Reitman

officiant

Will’s older brother, Sam emerged from the woods of Arrowsic, ME ready to experience the world, and that he did. His travels have taken him all over, with extended stints in Honduras and Mexico, and he now finds himself back in Maine. Sam excels at scuba diving, finding the best restaurants in sleepy Italian villages, and building and maintaining yurts. When he’s not operating 60-year-old chairlifts in the dark, he’s teaching himself how to sail.

Henry

goodest boy

From somewhere near the southern border, Henry is a pure-bred Henchillada, or Mexican mining dog. Henry enjoys digging holes in the dirt, sniffing things, and chasing small rodents. He does not enjoy bathtime, puppies, or cats. Henry's superpowers are barking at squirrels, barking at next door neighbors, barking at other dogs, and barking at nothing. He is also proficient at stealing bread from the highest counter-top, and snuggling.
