When we visited Camp Mataponi in 2022 over Memorial Day it was 80 degrees. In 2021 it was 55 degrees. The high temp historic average is 67.9 degrees and the low temp historic average is 49.5 degrees. Plan for spring-time weather and check the forecast the week before.
EVERYTHING is taking place at Camp Mataponi (838 Sebago Rd. Naples, ME 04055). Whether you're staying on-site in the cabins or staying elsewhere, everything will be located around the reception hall in the center of camp.
The ceremony will take place on the grass lawn at the center of camp, weather permitting. We will then walk about 100 feet up the hill to the reception hall for the cocktail hour and reception.
You can expect to hear Caamp on repeat and will probably leave with a few bug bites. You can expect to make lifelong friendships and memories. There will be plenty of games and activities, including but not limited to: sand volleyball, canoes and kayaks on Sebago Lake, capture the flag, board games, late night bonfires, tennis, a talent show, corn hole, arts and crafts, something called gaga ball, and much more. Basically, you can expect to have the time of your life. Don't worry! That's why we're all staying at camp! Plan to bring clothes you feel comfortable in around a fire, your best sing-a-long voice, and your favorite ghost story. Late night snacks will be provided.
If you are a camper at Camp McKalish, please arrive no earlier than 3pm on Sunday, May 28th. If you are staying off campus, please refer to the itinerary for individual event details.
Yes! We'd love for you to bring your kids, if you want. We also know you might enjoy a parents weekend away and that is great, too! If you do plan to bring your little ones, we will have activities to keep them busy and look forward to spending time with your whole family.
Yes! All cabins have electricity and running water. There's even cellular telephone service in most places!
No, tent camping (including trailer/RV/truck bed/sleeping under the stars, etc.) is not allowed. If you want to stay at Camp Mataponi you must reserve a cabin spot by emailing willandalexa2023@gmail.com. Additionally, please leave your fur babies at home - the camp does not allow any pets (except for Henry, because he's a special boy). If you are traveling with your furry friend, there are many boarding kennels nearby. One that we've heard good things about is Clover Acres Kennel in Windham, ME (approximately 30 minutes from camp).
Don't worry! Every cabin will be sure to have someone who snores (it's part of the camp experience). We will provide earplugs for all, but if you are extra worried about it please let us know.
Ugh, who even knows anymore! We will continue to monitor the ever-evolving situation, and update everyone accordingly. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to get vaccinated and stay safe and healthy! Fortunately, most of the events at camp will take place outside (weather permitting).
