Wedding Party

Meet our amazing friends and family who will be standing by our side as we say "I do"

Jayden Morehead

Co-Best Man

Owen could not have been more stoked when his brother Jayden was born. They have always shared the same hobbies, leading to a life of teamwork and peaceful competition. From being on the same high school varsity basketball team, to late nights bonding over making music, they have shared countless memories that will last a lifetime. Jayden is a true friend to Owen and everyone in his community; growing up, Owen’s friends always used to say ‘I wish I had a younger bro that was a cool as Jay!’. His peaceful and loving attitude is inspiring, and always leaves a lasting impression. Ask him about his band, Trinidad Kid!

Julia McLeod

Maid of Honor

Julia is Kate’s younger sister and lifelong inspiration. As a certified yoga teacher, talented jeweler, strong surfer, and current nursing student, she excels at just about anything she sets her mind to! She’s adventurous and has a great sense of humor - there’s no one Kate will laugh harder with than her sister. Throughout many childhood years wearing matching outfits, they spent every summer tubing in the North Carolina waterways, aggressively trying to throw each other off behind the boat. Kate and Julia listened to the exact same song every single morning of 2016 & 2017 as they drove the 7 minutes to high school together, singing along in unison. Julia is the only person who shares Kate's extreme love of sauce, particularly BBQ and sour cream. Checkout all the beautiful earrings the bridesmaids are wearing - Julia handmade each pair with love.

Jordan Chasescott

Co-Best Man

From crawling babies to pubescent teens, Jordan’s and Owen’s parents have mistakenly referred to each other as their son-a true sign of brothers from different mothers. Although they’re only four months apart, Owen has always looked up to Jordan as an older brother; someone he could trust, admire, and learn from (now Owen might finally take him down in a 3-point contest). The two have rocked more birthday parties, sleepovers, and Halloween costumes together than you can count. Jordan always keeps spirits high with his friendliness, peace, and humor. If you give him a grin, his beautiful smile will always shine back! His nickname ‘Tree’ is the perfect fit; this guy is grounded just like a Redwood.

Alyssa Morehead

Bridesmaid

Kate and Alyssa first got close on their combined Morehead-McLeod family trip to Nicaragua over Christmas 2019, enjoying boat and beach adventures. Since then, they have enjoyed great times together skiing, swimming in the river, and exploring San Diego. Alyssa has continued to expand her world travels to Kenya, London, and she just completed a semester abroad in Spain. Alyssa is one of the sweetest and kindest people you will meet, and Kate can’t wait for them to officially become sisters.

Colin Townsend

Groomsman

Colin and Owen didn’t meet until high school, but immediately became best bros, rivaling all of the childhood friendships Owen had made. From bachelor ski trips, to Owen watching from the bench as Colin scored countless varsity soccer goals, to local summer surfing expeditions, the two share excitement for adventures that make lifelong memories. FYI, this dude knows how to build a killer oceanview tree fort; it might have been the best one Trinidad has seen!

Davia Amato

Bridesmaid

Davia and Kate became fast friends in 2017 through UCSB Theta, and spent many sunsets together at Sands beach. Davia has been Kate’s rock through college and beyond, and Owen coordinated for her to be the surprise photographer of their engagement, jumping out from behind a tree after he was on one knee (prompting many tears from all present). The past few years as long distance besties has allowed them to explore fun cities together such as Portland, San Diego, Napa, and Los Angeles. Make sure to ask Davia about her new fur baby, Oslo, or her work in soap master data.

Nathan Heidrick

Groomsman

Nathan and Owen developed their lifelong friendship early in childhood, as Nathan was one of few bros always taller than Owen. Nathan is just as handsome as he is friendly, and his laugh is as contagious as it gets. If you never got to go to one of his high school house parties, you missed out. Nathan is someone all the bros look up to, and for good reason. Ask him about all the cool stuff he’s doing as a PG&E Engineer, or just come up to him for a handshake, and he’ll probably give you a big bear hug instead if your lucky.

Nicole Thomas

Bridesmaid

Kate and Nicole were assigned as partners in their first job out of college and bonded over many early work mornings together, building huge retail displays and drinking as much free coffee as they could get their hands on. They share a love of country music, fancy cheeses, and once spent an entire day in the rain following Rory Mcilroy around the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Nicole introduced Kate to the world of line dancing - make sure to look out for her on the dance floor.

Bryce Mateer

Groomsman

Bryce has been Owen’s point guard ever since they met playing AAU basketball in fourth grade. Their first tournament down to San Francisco was a rude awakening, but ever since they have dominated the courts together-winning more tournaments than you can count on two hands. Most involved countless hours shared on the road, blasting iPod music and stopping for milkshakes after the wins. Bryce always has a solid joke or story up his sleeve, and his delivery never disappoints.

Greta Bishop

Bridesmaid

Greta, Kate, and Julia were competitive teammates on the 8th grade Trinidad School basketball team (coached by Owen’s dad, Ben). They stayed best friends throughout high school, and Greta and her boyfriend went with Kate and Owen to senior prom. They’ve gone from walking together at high school graduation to now living 10 minutes apart in Santa Cruz, and Kate is so grateful for their many years of memories together. Currently, Greta is an avid reader, baker, SoulCycler, and an accomplished chemical engineer in Silicon Valley.

Dane Malkus

Groomsman

Dane and Owen first met at Trinidad School Kindergarten, and the friendship has grown ever since. The two have been shredding the surf together over the last couple decades, starting with lessons together from their Dads down at Moonstone Beach. Their parents lived less than a mile from each other growing up, which made it extra easy to spend time playing trampoline basketball, video games, and having nerf war sleepovers. Dane always bring laughter, fun, and fashion to the party (and to the gym-he can probably bench press more than Owen now). Now-a-days, if you need your roof cleaned, he’s the Moss Boss!

Emily Rafalski

Bridesmaid

Kate and Emily were roommates in Santa Barbara, spending many late nights together in Isla Vista laughing on the floor of their kitchen as Emily made 2am eggs. Then they had the chance to live together again in an adorable house in Santa Cruz, navigating their first jobs and years post-college side by side. Through countless dinners, coffees, and glasses of wine they’ve supported each other through the past (almost) decade of growing up.

Will Robinson

Groomsman

Will and Owen first met playing middle school AAU basketball. If Will wasn’t getting buckets, he was making someone either laugh or smile. From backpacking expeditions to summer bonfires and wild frisbee sessions, Will knows how to host and have a good time. He’s officially the only bro here with a dog, and Finn is a big fluffer. Ask him how many people came up to pet him as a puppy down in Santa Barbara (too many). Will’s currently developing a beautiful property in Willow Creek, making him a river neighbor to both Owen and Kate.
