forever & always

Before we were dating, we were friends. And before we were friends, we were coworkers. After about a year of working together, we began to spend time together outside of work with a few other friends. It wasn't until the fall of 2022 that we made our connection, and even later that we had our first date. Our first date was in the beginning of December 2022. We bonded over our mutual love of coffee, and were both eager to visit the Starbucks Roastery in NYC. So we made a plan to take off to the city for the day. After driving 2.5 hours together, we finally made it to the roastery only find it was closed for the day. Determined to make something of our trip, we began wandering around the Lower East Side and ended up at a dim sum restaurant down the street for dinner, and a speakeasy called Bathtub Gin for a few fun cocktails. Conversation flowed effortlessly, laughing and joking as we always do. Near the end of the night, Kayla finally asked: "So....is this a date?" realizing that though we had never said as much, we were both hoping that the answer was yes. We decided not only that it was a date, but that it was an amazing date. After two and a half years of growing our relationship through romantic dates, new adventures, and quality time with friends, Alex proposed on June 27th, 2025 in Saratoga Springs. Alex set up a very thoughtful surprise in Congress Park, as well as arranged to have a few of our close friends show up afterwards for an impromptu engagement celebration. It was a day full of love and joy that we will continue to cherish for years to come. As our love story continues to unfold, we are deeply grateful for our friends and family who have all been a part of our journey and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all in August.
