Nearing Christmas 2019, DJ and Katie ran a nighttime 5k in Dallas. Not the first time they wore these matching onesies.
In November 2019, Katie and DJ finally went to a K-State football game together. Throughout college, Katie covered all football games and never got to sit in the crowd.
For DJ’s 26th birthday, his parents visited Fort Worth. Everyone practiced their axe throwing skills and—of course—DJ is a natural.

The two made a trip to Colorado in 2019 so Katie could run the Pikes Peak Ascent race. This photo was taken in the Garden of the Gods.
DJ’s family migrated to Missouri for a week nearly every summer to visit either the Lake of the Ozarks or Table Rock Lake. Katie tagged along since their first month of dating in 2013!
After moving to Texas in summer 2019, it took the couple exactly three days to find their way to a ballgame.

Katie's first niece was born in December 2018 and she was so excited to be an aunt! Thankfully she had lots of practice with kids from DJ's family.
In November 2018, Katie and DJ adopted their first pet together. Maverick now enjoys sleeping sandwiched against Katie’s face and playing with his younger sister Rogue.

Katie’s first, very rainy half marathon in Wichita, KS. The Prairie Fire Half Marathon was in October 2018. Katie spent months training up to the race alongside other Local Joes.
Of the thousands of interests this couple shares, one artist holds a special spot. DJ and Katie regularly listen to Sam Smith’s music and attended his concert in Kansas City August 2018.

Although they didn’t attend many games together during college, Katie and DJ ventured to Lawrence, KS at least once to catch a Sunflower Showdown in Allen Fieldhouse.
Katie left work briefly to hang out with DJ at a tailgate. One of the only K-State games these two “attended” together.
DJ and Katie stayed up all night watching Netflix, then watched the sunrise “On Top of the World.”
