At 4'11" 100 Lbs soaking wet, this mighty midget recently moved back to San Francisco (For the 3rd time!) to be with her one true love... Sutter Pup. Steph is SO excited to celebrate with all of you, and so grateful to those that are able to make the trip!

Sister. Twin. BirthMom to Stephanie's nephews who are "actually her children." I fully expect to find a new viral TikTok of this TigerMom ex-cheerleader absolutely SMOKING the dance floor alongside her sister, with a baby on the hip. If it were up to Michelle and Steph, they'd be quarantining in a compound with their babies, husbands, and parents every day for the rest of their lives.

Cousin. Brother. Childhood Bubble Bath Partner. Mike graciously agreed to be Matt's best man, and is trying to figure out how to cut his speech down from 90 minutes to 5 (lest the bride murder him). Matt and Mike have been in a long distance relationship since 2014. It’s hard, but through weekly video games and guilt-riddled facetimes with his son, they’re making it work. Matt couldn't get married without him there. We did it Mike, we did it!

Despite being polar opposites Steph and Alli are the closest thing to sisters if she didn’t already have one. Allison has always been ‘chairman of the board’ while Stephanie was ‘dancing on-the chair’. From high school best friends to sharing a bed at ASU, Steph and Alli truly did everything together. That is until that damn beautiful baby girl Madelyn was born and ousted Steph as the most important person in Alli’s life (Tyler’s a distant 3rd). The silver lining to Alli becoming a mom? Maddie led to her unhealthy obsession with children, even if she only wants to play with Aunt Callie. When Maddie hits her growth spurt, Steph will have another person to look up to the way she does Allison.

Cousin. Brother and Spiritual Guide. Duke of Newtown, and the 2nd best Risk player in the family. You probably recognize him from their annual ‘Mom-Mom’ songs that were definitely NOT put online just to get girls. Thomas will be leading us through a beautiful ceremony depicting Matt & Steph's unique story of love. We wish we could say he won this position by taking home gold in their annual Olympic Games, but alas he was bested yet again by baby Matthew.
Callie Zuares

Best friends since grade school, Callie is the only person who can get Steph to actually enjoy working out or to postmates junk food at midnight. Basically Steph will do anything Callie says so luckily she didn’t tell Steph not to marry Matt! Callie and Teo are due any day now and so regret not being able to make it this weekend. Luckily they promised to name their first child after us. “Matty Zuares”… Sounds exotic!

Bi-Coastal. Bi-partisan. Buy…some of his art because he’s always looking for duel streams of income. John and Matt were best friends at Swarthmore but they never knew. They re-kindled their love in the Bay Area. Stand-by for their podcast that’s been coming out for 10 years ‘Tub-time!’. By the way, his brother's also here so if this Berkeley Hippie turned Florida Man can’t make it the suit will just be a little baggy on James.

While she shares Stephs bougie love for the finer things (see you back at the Hokupa’a Tower dear!), Trish always puts her friends and family first. Trish married her own Matt, a cooler longer haired older brother to the groom who's teaching him how to gamble. They absolutely cannot wait to raise kids together. Trish’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to - daily workouts, constant entertainment, and deep dives into Amazon Web Services . On the long list of reasons Matt will never upset Steph, him being scared of Trish is right up top.

If there’s an emergency on the way to Hawaii and the pilot asks ‘is there a Doctor here!? don’t expect Papa Anthony, M.D. to step up. Not because he isn’t qualified but because he ‘needs his beauty rest!” When they were in high school a cute girl told them that Matt was more ‘winter hot’ and he was more ‘summer hot’. That fury drove Matt to plan a giant destination wedding on an Island to disprove it once and for all.

Tug actually bridges of everything Steph loves. Family and friends. Laying on the couch and dancing on the table. Growing up in Arizona but now settling down in the GREAT state of New Jersey! Steph’s ride or die since they learned to walk, Juliana also won Matt’s heart with her masterful Pasta Carbonara. So much so that she’s now a staple at the Bowers family holidays. We'll set 3 spots for you next year!

Sister. Jenny Gal. Fairy Dogmother. Matt and Steph can always count on Jen to be there. There. Right there, where she wrote down that she would be in the shared family calendar. Unlike her brother and soon to be sister, Jen is organized, musically inclined, and artistically talented; 3 facts that Matt and Steph took full advantage of for this wedding. If you forget where you’re supposed to be this weekend ask Jen because she knows it better than the bride and groom do. Jen remembers everyones birthday, buys a gift, makes a card, signs Matts name and then charges him for half…Thanks for doing that. Unfortunately for Jen there is now yet another woman in Matt’s life that’s in charge of him.

Matt rebukes the old adage ‘home is where the heart is’ and instead insists ‘home is wherever Mrs. Bowers is cooking bagel bites”. A 10 time regular at the Bowers Family Cabin, he get’s his 11th trip free with the ticket we’ve been punching since 2008. Lay and Matt grew up together, and while their competitive pandering for Anthony’s approval created a rivalry of sorts, Lay remains the most loyal friend you’ll ever meet. He also refuses to owe anyone anything, so everyone buy him a drink then run away when he tries to return the favor.

A Disney fanatic, Harry Potter nerd, board game lover and Pizza Hut hostess, Stephanie’s long time roommate fits in better with the Bowers family than she does. For Steph, Liz is the steady friend that knows when it’s time to melt on the couch for 14 hours and when it’s time to host a murder mystery party (never break character!). Possibly most important is the birthday connection she shares with Sutter, the dog she absolutely adores and in no way is afraid of. Diaper buddies. Childhood best friends. When they were 2 years old their teacher separated them because they ‘couldn’t get their bodies ready’. Let’s hope that’s not an issue on Matt’s wedding night. For 30 years they’ve been trying to break Matt and Jon apart as they face off in every game, sport, and competition imaginable. Watch out for them racing you to the beach and back at some point this weekend with Matt’s dad cackling in the background. Matt can’t wait to grow old together and be diaper buddies again, this potty training is overrated.

Dana is Stephanie’s non-romantic star crossed lover. They grew up 10 minutes apart. Went to the same school, had the same friends, and yet didn’t meet until after college. 2 yacht weeks and 2 Ski weeks later they were inseparable during Steph’s San Diego years. Matt would personally like to thank Dana for putting up with Stephanie during her wildest times (because she’s so calm now).

Nobody is quite sure how he snuck into the wedding party. Honestly. Guy hustled, schemed, and partied his way into the hearts of this lovely couple. Must've taken a lot of notes (Jot that down). Not to mention he already had the suit. Catch 'Japes' at the bar ordering a round of 'your worst tequila shots please'.

Travel Buddy. Badass New Yorker and Matt’s footwear guru. Kelsey and Steph’s friendship sparked at Stryker but was forged in the fires of countless trips together. Kelsey has a way of making an over-priced glass of champagne, a 5-star hotel room for 3 hours, and hiring a Couch Doctor seem like sound financial advice to Stephanie. As the biggest supporter of Matt’s dad jokes, Kelsey has been strategically sat near the microphones to give the illusion that people find him funny.

Roomate. Teacher. This Zone Defensive specialist is a peaceful calm atop a maelstrom of undercurrent. Don’t let his soft demeanor fool you, Joe Hammerberries has personally leveled Matt clear off his feet at practice. Their uncommon bond allowed them to win the Beirut tournament among all (both) the Swarthmore Fraternities (RIP). Even more impressive, they caught 29 grape throws in a row with their mouths. One time Joe even kissed Matt on the lips as revenge for unhooking Carmen’s bra. Watchout Steph, roommates share everything.

She bought a ticket, booked a hotel room, and she’s even in the wedding party yet Alice’s attendance is still pretty 50/50. Alice introduced Matt and Steph one lazy Sunday after spending hours trying to find where she parked her car. She and Steph connect over their love for terrible shows (even though Alice doesn’t watch TV). Stephanie’s Pixley roommate and Matt’s “one that got away” Alice has a unique friendship with both the bride and groom. She was there from the beginning and she’ll most likely be there at the end because it will be her fault.

Seven. Seven was simultaneously the smartest and dumbest guy at Swarthmore. The irony of studying to become a neurosurgeon all day then slamming his helmet into 200 Lbs. men every evening is not lost on the rest of us. We feel blessed Steve was able to make it here between his residency interviews, Intramural basketball and SpongeBob episodes.
