Travel Note

Rental Car

If you are planning to rent a car, you need to do so as soon as possible. The price will only increase the longer you wait, and they may run out for that weekend. OGG Airport offers Hertz, Avis, and many other brands. The hotel is 50 minutes from the airport. Ubers and Taxis are available at OGG and all of the activities are either at the Westin or take off from there, so a rental car is not necessarily a must. However, if you are choosing not to stay at the Westin we do recommend getting one.

Flight

Kahului Airport

Flights to Hawaii are not short, especially for you east coasters. Like with renting a car, we recommend that you book sooner rather than later to save $. We find Google Flights to be the best way to research our options, but in general see below a short list of some of the best flight Options for most of ours guests: San Francisco: SFO to OGG has 6 Nonstops per day on United, Hawaiin Airlines, and Alaska. The flights are around 5 and a half hours. Arizona: PHX to OGG has 1 nonstop daily (American Airlines). Otherwise, best options are United and American, which fly through LAX and SFO. East Coasters: JFK and EWR have several flights daily to OGG, all flying through SFO or LAX on United Airlines or American. Hawaiin Airlines does have one 11 hour flight to HNL, where you can take a 45 minute plane to OGG if you prefer that.
