Alaina and Nick met while they were both living in Bend and working for the American Red Cross. They were introduced when Nick was hired, but biomedical and disaster staff rarely spent time together. As luck would have it, Alaina was talking to a colleague to grab drinks and cut out early after a frustrating day and Nick was standing at the copier. "And you can come too," she said. When the evening conversation turned to Star Wars, it became clear to their colleague that Alaina and Nick were in their own world and she had become a third wheel. Nick later asked Alaina to go to a Gogol Bordello concert with him. When she agreed but found tickets were already sold out, he said "Sorry, roommate. Cool, hot chick wants to go, Imma need that ticket back." And the rest is history! Nick and Alaina fell in love over camping, beer gardens, karaoke, and hiking. Nick also introduced Alaina to his long time friend and travel partner, Sidvicious, his cocker spaniel. Alaina soon adopted Sid as her own. They are looking forward to many more years of music, joy, memories, and love together and with their family and friends.
