Officiant and Minister of Chaos

Tessa is Maya's younger sister and Maya and Magni's roommate. Her interests include drinking wine, conspiracy theories, dogs, swords, tv shows about mummies, spring rolls, and smashing the patriarchy. Officiating a wedding has been one of Tessa's goals for a number of years. Maya and Magni have agreed to let her do this, but take no responsibility for anything she may say or do.

Modi Hammarstedt

Groomsperson in Chief

Magni attempted to kill Modi in the womb but was ultimately unsuccessful. The two share many things, including a birthday, DNA, a tattoo artist, a love of baseball, and an immature sense of humor. When he and Magni aren't cackling maniacally at each other, Modi can be found photographing birds and writing Wikipedia articles (usually about weightlifting and old baseball players).

Sina is Maya's youngest sister. Don't feed her nuts, she’ll die.

Nancy Hoang

The Gremlin

Magni and Nancy met through mutual friends in high school but didn’t develop a strong friendship until senior year. During AP Physics Magni, Nancy, and John would do literally anything other than pay attention and would play Tetris Battle instead of homework. In the last few years Magni and Nancy have become coworkers, and were roommates for a while. Magni is also one of the very few people to see Nancy take off her human skin and transform into the gremlin she actually is.

Becky Crisman

Becky and Maya first met at the age of four in gymnastics class, but they were soon put in different classes after a misunderstanding involving Becky pushing Maya off the balance beam. They met again when Becky transferred to Schoolcraft Learning Community in second grade, and quickly became friends. At the time, Becky was a full head taller than Maya, and they loved running around the woods and screaming about Harry Potter. Nearly twenty years and many shenanigans later, Maya is now taller than Becky, and they are both disappointed in J.K. Rowling, but otherwise very little has changed.

John Keefe

Magni and John became friends in high school in an AP English class where they were forced to work on a project together. Eventually a friendship formed, which involved complaining about school and playing Pokémon whenever they could (including during class). They stayed friends after high school and college. Magni developed a love of board games after moving in with John and Nancy (and not those lame games like Catan). John is the undisputed board game savant in that household. Magni also developed an envy of John’s cooking ability and still uses that as motivation whenever he cooks to this day.
