Laguna Beach is one of our favorite places with beautiful beaches, art galleries, the Laguna Art Museum, shops and restaurants. In July, the Sawdust Art Festival, Festival of Arts, and Pageant of the Masters are highly recommended! Max proposed to Lana along the Laguna Beach coastline, right below one of their favorite restaurants, Las Brisas.
Newport Beach is one of the most beautiful coastal locations in Southern California! Take a harbor cruise or a ferry to Balboa Island, where there is a "Balboa Fun Zone" amusement park and restaurants. Rent a Duffy boat and sail by the beautiful mansions along the scenic waterfront. Back on land, visit the outdoor Newport Fashion Island shopping mall.
The Irvine Spectrum Center is one of our favorite spots. It is a beautiful outdoor shopping center with great restaurants, the Irvine Improv comedy club, entertainment, a giant ferris wheel, antique carousel, and a fun vibe all around.
Mission San Juan Capistrano was founded 250 years ago in 1776, originally built by Spanish Padres and Native Americans. Today, it is a historic landmark and museum with beautiful gardens, and includes the chapel where Saint Junipero Serra once celebrated Mass. We always enjoy visiting the Mission and walking in the adjacent downtown San Juan Capistrano, which has many wonderful restaurants. We enjoy the area’s peaceful beauty so much that we took our engagement photos there for this wedding website!
San Diego County is Lana’s hometown and is recommended, if you have a few extra days! Explore the beaches in Del Mar, La Jolla and Mission Beach. If you like amusement parks, visit the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, SeaWorld San Diego, and Legoland. If you like museums and history, visit the museums and botanical gardens in Balboa Park or historic Old Town San Diego. Go to the downtown harbor area to dine and walk around the Gaslamp Quarter or Seaport Village. Attend a Padres baseball game in Petco Park. Further south, take a scenic drive on the Coronado Bridge over the San Diego Bay to visit nearby Coronado Island, home of the famous Hotel Del Coronado.
Explore the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Griffith Park Observatory, Universal Studios Hollywood, Rodeo Drive and Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, the Getty Center art museum, Santa Monica Pier, attend an event at one of LA's world class entertainment and sports venues, and much more.
