FAQs

The Wedding Website of Lana Lakdawala and Max Fowler
The dinner reception will be held on this outdoor terrace with sweeping mountain and valley views.
Question

Is there a recommended dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Garden Party Attire (Please note - this is just a guideline and not mandatory.) Not sure what to wear? For our celebration, we're envisioning an elegant garden evening that's filled with romance, joy and excitement! Flowing fabrics, expressive color, and floral details feel right at home. Ladies: Long dresses, breezy silhouettes, and elegant separates all work well. Color is welcome and encouraged, whether soft or vibrant. Gentlemen: Suits, blazers, or dress shirts in lighter or natural fabrics like linen or cotton. Ties are optional. The wedding vows and dinner will be held outside, so it will be warm and sunny at first, but the temperature will cool down after sunset, so consider bringing both sunglasses and a jacket, sweater or shawl!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive at The Retreat wedding venue at 4:30 PM to allow time to park, sign the guest book in the lobby, grab a tea, water or coffee if you like, walk through the beautiful lobby of the Grand Hall to the outdoor ceremony area, and get seated before the 5:00 PM wedding ceremony begins.

Question

Do you have hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, we have room blocks with discounted rates at three different hotels close to the venue. Please see the TRAVEL page on this wedding website for details. If you are traveling, we recommend that you make your hotel reservations now, since two of the hotel room blocks expire on June 10, and the third hotel room block expires on June 16. The room blocks give our guests a generous discount beyond the standard rates, and guarantees that they will be able to reserve a room. (These hotels do fully book up on summer weekends.) Once the hotel room blocks expire, the rates will increase and there may not be any rooms left at those three local hotels.

Question

I have a food allergy. Can I make a special request?

Answer

There will be a delicious buffet-style dinner after the ceremony, so you will be able to select what you eat. However, please let us know if you have a special dietary need or concern when you RSVP.

Question

Is the venue located in a gated community?

Answer

Yes. When you will drive up to the gate, let the guard know you are there to attend our wedding. Your name will be on a list. They will ask for an ID to confirm your identity, and then they will let you through the gate.

Question

What is the parking situation for the wedding?

Answer

A large parking lot is located right outside the venue. Self-parking is free.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! We are hosting an open bar with beer, wine, champagne, sodas and the venue's house brand well liquors and mixers. The only exception is for special requests for specific name brand liquors that the venue does not typically serve. In that instance, the bar will charge the guest.
