Just 1 door down from our wedding venue is our all-time favorite little cider spot. A keg of Poeple's Cider has been at all of Max & LA's big events, like Mokaya's grand opening, LA's 28th birthday, and howlers during thanksgiving.
A great place to kill some time with this warm, indoor market! LA used to live across the street when Max & her first started dating. Recommended buys here: a glass of wine/beer at Aperativo, a bold brew at Madcap Coffee, a handful of smoked salmon at Fish Lads, Ham & cheese croissants at Field & Fire bakery, fresh smoothies at Malamiah Juice Bar, or grab some tacos at Tacos El Cunado & sit upstairs in the warm greenhouse.
For something with an old school parisian feel this place does a fantistic brunch, and the vibes inside are terribly romantic! This was the first place Max & LA went to sip champagne the day they got engaged.
The Golczynski Family Chocolate shop! If you're in town early you must stop by and snag a hot cocoa or drinking chocolate. If you can't make it, don't worry there will be treats at the reception!
The Bride & Groom's main stomping grounds. On the same block as the Golczynski's chocolate shop, Mokaya! There's lots to do in this neighborhood, especially with a warm coffee in hand. They also have a selection of Teas.
Max & LA's first date spot and best Margarita in town (try the Prickly Pear flavored Marg if you like to be delighted). They also do a great brunch on the weekends.
Another fantastic burger joint in town, and the couple's second date location, so you know it's good.
A super whimsical basement bar & restaurant with French & Scandinavian inspired cuisine. Great Sunday brunch menu... but great anytime! Comfort food with options for most diets.
Max & LA's current cocktail obsession. Don't go on an empty stomach... but definitely do have a shot with the bartenders! No food served here, but there is a delicious tapas restaurant within stumbling distance called Zoko.
We'd be remiss if we didn't mention Founders! Great beer, a lovely, heated patio & some delicious bar food. It's a GR staple and a tourist destination. Typically there is live music on the weekend.
The cutest little homegoods, gifts and trinket store! Hard not to leave here empty handed.
If you know the groom well, you know he shops here. Most of his staple items are from Mercy, and they have some rugged, well-made goods if you're looking to shop.
The Bride does photography for this West Michigan Boutique, and if you're in need for some accessories for the wedding or just looking to shop this is a great women-owned clothing store in town!
An artistic take on outdoor apparel & goods, owned by a fellow Kendall graduate with a lot of beautiful woodcut designs. Also connected to Outside Coffee Co, a delightful garden with year-round seating (heated geodesic domes) and serving Ferris Coffee.
Need something to bring back to your hotel? This place has EVERYTHING!! Great beer, wine & liquor selection. Also a fantastic deli and brick oven pizza in the rear of the shop. You'll always leave spending more than you planned. There's brick oven pizzas, a coffee shop & bakery connected & around the corner.
Right next to our wedding venue, this place has great pizza options for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans!
