Milwaukee Brat House
We went here on our second date, and Amanda locked her keys in her car. Needless to say it was memorable. Try the giant pretzel, but be warned that it is giant!
Tochi Ramen
This is one of our favorite restaurants (really it is Amanda's favorite and she measures all other restaurants against it). Come try authentic ramen with a twist or one of their delicious deserts.
Atlas BBQ
We eat here all the time when we are craving BBQ. Our favorite is the North sauce, but be adventurous and try them all.
Merge
This is the BEST fried chicken wings you will ever have! We were recently introduced to this place by our Maid of Honor and Best Man, and we highly recommend the Soy Garlic wings. The atmosphere, food, and drinks are fantastic. Let us know if you are going because we may invite ourselves.
SafeHouse
The Safe House is a Milwaukee institution. This spy themed bar was recently updated, so if you have visited before, you may want to explore what new puzzles you can solve. To answer some questions up front: Yes, it is down an alley but don't be afraid. No, I will not tell you the password. Yes, you should check out the phone booth once you are ready to leave.
Tomaso's
Quaint and small seat-yourself restaurant with amazing pizza. Stop in after walking up and down Washington Avenue exploring all of Cedarburg's shops.
The Bavarian Bierhaus, Biergarten, and Trivia
The Bavarian Bierhaus and Biergarten is just a short drive away from Grafton, and on Thursday nights they host trivia. Our first date was at the now closed 42 Lounge in Milwaukee where we teamed up for trivia. It didn't go so well... Luckily, we are both equally bad at it.
Lakefront Brewery Tour
You can't come this close to Milwaukee and not go on a brewery tour. Lakefront is generous with the samples and will have you laughing through their small brewery. Their food is also amazing, so try an appetizer while you are here.
Milwaukee Brewing Company
Check out the brewery where the beer from our reception is made. Our favorite is the Outboard cream ale.
Miller Brewery Tour
MillerCoors is one of the largest breweries in Milwaukee with 160 years of history. Learn all about it on one of their tours.
Fire Ridge Golf Club
I'll be honest, we don't know anything about golf. August should be good weather though, so if that is what you are in to, this is a local public champion course.
Marcus North Shore Cinema
This is our favorite theater, and come here often for for date nights. All of the theaters are reserved recliner seating, so check out the newest blockbuster or something a little less known.
Schlitz Audubon Nature Center
We are going here for a wedding just a month after ours, and it looks gorgeous. Check out their trails that take you through forests, ravines, bluffs, and the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve
We almost squeezed our ceremony in here until we found a larger park. The trails are nice and you can walk all the way down to the Lake Michigan beach. Stick to the trails though because I have been told there is poison ivy around the reserve.
Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes)
Discover cacti, succulents, shrubs and desert palms in the Desert Dome. Enjoy five seasonal shows each year in the Floral Dome and walk among 1,200 species of rainforest plants in the Tropical Dome.
Milwaukee Art Museum
Whether you go in to the museum or just visit the surrounding area, the Milwaukee Art Museum's building is unique and gorgeous. If you are lucky enough to come on a fair weather day, they will open the retractable wings and provide amazing photo opportunities. Veteren's park is right next door to enjoy a picnic by Lake Michigan or walk along the lakefront path.
Marcus Center for the Performing Arts
Experience Broadway shows, ballet, or symphony in Milwaukee. The 2019-2020 schedule will be announced in February 2019.
Milwaukee County Zoo
We have celebrated birthdays at the zoo before. Amanda's favorite is the Otter exhibit because the Red Pandas are always hiding. They recently expanded the Elephant habitat as well, opening in May 2019.
Harley-Davidson Museum
Even if you aren't a die hard Harley-Davidson enthusiast, this museum is interesting and beautiful.
Cedarburg Shopping
Explore Cedarburg and the awesome shopping it has to offer. There is a huge variety up and down the main road in this area from wineries to antiques.
Kohler Waters Spa
We got engaged on our trip to the American Club for a spa weekend. It is only 30 minutes away from Grafton, and when you purchase a service you get access to the spa's amenities. The rooftop fireplace and the waterfall pool were incredibly relaxing. Treat yourself!
Miller Park
The Milwaukee Brewers face off against the Texas Rangers on August 9th and 11th. Tickets can usually be found for any game, and you can wander around the park and view it from multiple levels. If the weather is great, the retractable roof will be open.
