Maura and Ruk’s story began in 2021 at an Austin brewery. Maura was visiting from Chicago, and Ruk made quite the impression. But with her life still rooted elsewhere, Maura wasn’t quite ready to relocate or leap into something new. As fate would have it, life had other plans. After Maura moved to Austin, their first official date took place at Geraldine’s. It was one of those effortlessly electric evenings with live music, great food, and conversation that just clicked. Ruk’s thoughtful, forward-thinking nature blended seamlessly with Maura’s free-spirited energy, and by May 2022, their story officially began. Since then, their lives have blended effortlessly, though the true ruler of the house is Bishop, their golden retriever, who commands with endless joy and an unshakable opinion on walk times. From chasing down the best bites in town and catching concerts, to simply wandering Austin with Bishop leading the way, their days are filled with connection, laughter, and love. Now, they’re excited to turn the page to the next chapter—married life, with all its adventures ahead.
