We met while Matt was working at a restaurant called Crushed in PB. My friend and I were arguing about who was going to pay for the meal and we both shoved our credit cards in Matt's face. He looked at me, took my card, smiled and said, "I'm into redheads." My friend was conveniently in the bathroom when Matt came back to chat with me and he asked if he could give me his number. I gave him my phone. His hands were shaking when he was typing in his number, but if you ask him he will say it was because of a strenuous workout he had that day and not because he was nervous (we know the truth). Later, I went to message him, but instead ended up chatting with a comedy club promoter in New York who wanted me to go to a show at his club. I was confused, but Matt happened to put his full name in my phone and so I looked him up on Facebook. Conveniently, his profile picture was of him in front of Crushed with his coworkers, so I sent him a friend request and forgot about it. A week later Facebook sends me an email saying I have an unread message. It was from Matt and it said, "so you must be the type of girl who friend requests a guy after getting his number?" I replied letting him know that I only did that when I was given the wrong number. He was shocked. His coworkers knew he gave me his number and heckled him all week as they thought I ghosted him, but really it was his own fault. The rest is history... several years living together, many adventures, and a dog later and we are taking the next step and tying the knot.
