Where to fly In To

You have two options if flying to our Northern California wedding: ✈️ California Redwood Coast-Humbodlt County Airport (ACV) ✈️ Humboldt County has a small airport that is a 20 minute drive to downtown Eureka (close to our wedding venue), and 10 minutes from Matt and Julie's home. Although convenient, ACV often has more expensive flights compared to your next options. You can rent a car at this airport. ✈️ San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland Airport (OAK) ✈️ Here you can often find cheaper flights and car rentals, but once you arrive to SFO/OAK you will then have a 5 hour drive north to Eureka. If choosing this option, we recommend flying in and completing the drive the day before our wedding rather than the same day. This way you do not feel rushed and can enjoy the beautiful ride through the redwoods!

Eureka

Eureka is the closest city to our wedding festivities. There are ample hotel and Airbnb options that are walking distance to Eureka's Historic Old Town that has restaurants, shops and will host our Post Wedding Social. 🛎️ Some Hotel Suggestions 🛎️ 1. Eagle House Inn at 2nd & C. This is a centrally located historic hotel with quant and cozy rooms. Consider staying here if you want the full Eureka Historic Downtown experience, walking distance to downtown and is a 10 minute drive to our wedding venue. https://www.historiceaglehouse.com/ 2. The Carter House Inn This is another quaint hotel that provides a cozy and downtown place to stay. House Or Rental

Arcata

Arcata is our hometown! A quant college town with breweries, restaurants, shops and access to our beautiful Redwood Community forest, you will have plenty to see in a weekend. Downtown Arcata is a 15 minute drive to our Wedding venue, downtown Eureka, and the local beaches. 🛎️ Hotel Arcata 🛎️ Located right on the town square, you would be in the heart of Arcata walking distance to all the stores and restaurants. This is a historic hotel, so rooms are more vintage than modern. 15 minute drive to our wedding venue. https://hotelarcata.com/ 🏠 Airbnbs 🏠 Arcata has many Airbnb options, some closer to downtown which is great for grabbing a bite to eat, some closer to the Arcata Community Forest which is great for hiking. Arcata is a small town, so most spots you might stay would be walkable to downtown in 30-40 minutes. We recommend staying as close to the Arcata Plaza as possible to make those walks shorter!

Humboldt Bay Peninsula

If you are wanting to stay close to our wedding festivities and don't mind being further from town, you might consider staying on the Humboldt Bay Peninsula. Any of these options will have you just minutes from our Northern California beaches with lots of opportunity to explore. 🏠 Airbnbs 🏠 The neighborhoods that are 2-5 minute drives from our wedding venue consist of Samoa, Fairhaven and Manila. These neighborhoods have some airbnb options that are minutes from the beach, and 10 minutes from downtown Eureka. If you won't mind being closer to the ocean than downtown Eureka, this could be a good fit for you. 🏕️ Samoa Boat Ramp and Campground 🏕️ There is camping right down the road from our wedding venue, however it is first come first serve. There is limited space, however we can try and accommodate you if you are looking for a more rustic stay!
