Some of this is subject to change given the nature of the pandemic, BUT we will be requiring everyone to either show proof of vaccination or a NEGATIVE COVID test from within 48 hours of the event. If you have any symptoms whatsoever, we ask that you do not come. Some of our family members are extremely immunocompromised and we just can’t risk it. The reception meal will be buffet style with a server and the venue assures us that this is the safest option. We will have sanitizing stations and masks will be required for anyone who is not vaccinated.
We have a room block reserved at the Country Inn and Suites in Ashland. This and some other excellent options can be found on the Travel page of this website.
Well smack my butt and call me Sally, we DO have a shuttle for Country Inn and Suites Guests that book before the end of October!
By October 20th
The people who are invited are the people listed on the invitation, unless I've told you otherwise. We're trying to keep things relatively small, so we weren't able to include as many "plus ones" as we'd like. If you really need to bring someone who isn't on your invite, give us a call and we'll see if we can work something out.
When Virginia asked Matt if guests should be allowed to bring kids, he countered that guests should be REQUIRED to bring kids. Now, we're not doing that because it's creepy, but yes, you can bring your kids. Make sure you RSVP that you're doing so, though, so we can have enough chairs. Our wedding will have a buffet that includes a "Mac 'n Cheese Bar." If your child does not eat Mac 'n Cheese, I don't know what to tell you. We won't have a designated babysitter for the wedding, so keep that in mind. We will, however, have drawing opportunities and board games available for the kiddos. Also, the music will have some swears. If your kids are old enough to listen closely to the music and parse the lyrics, then I'm sorry. But we will definitely be playing "My Pony" by Ginuwine.
We will have at least one entree option that is gluten-free and at least one option that is dairy-free. There will be pescatarian and vegetarian options, but are not planning on having vegan options. If you have an allergy that isn't listed, contact us and we'll check with our caterer to make sure there's no issue.
Because we must, the attire is cocktail. That said, we STRONGLY encourage guests to find that one gem in their closet—that article of clothing that you love but never have an excuse to wear—and wear it. Seriously. Leopard jumpsuit? Fantastic. Revolutionary war reenactment garb? Yes please. Prom dress? Yass queen. We draw the line at wedding dresses, but whatever else floats your boat...
