FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We recommend formal or cocktail attire. Shoulders must be covered for the wedding ceremony.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Santa Maria in Aracoeli is a beautiful landmark church with a monumental stairway of 124 steps. To allow yourself enough time to be seated for the ceremony, please arrive no later than 3:30pm.

Question

Is there another entrance to Santa Maria in Aracoeli with fewer steps?

Answer

The basilica has a side entrance with fewer steps that can be accessed from the top of the Capitoline hill. There is also elevator access. For more information, please reach out to Angela or Matt.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony? What about afterwards?

Answer

To preserve the sanctity of the Mass, we kindly ask you to silence and refrain from using cell phones or cameras during the ceremony. Afterwards, you're welcome to take photos and share them online! Don't forget our hashtag -- #WeddingseaZahn

Question

Are there vegetarian options as part of the dinner menu?

Answer

Yes! To request the vegetarian dinner option please reach out to Angela or Matt.

Question

Can you accomodate food allergies?

Answer

We want all of our guests to be able to safely enjoy the reception, and will do our best to accomodate allergies. For more specific information please reach out to Angela or Matt.

Question

Is there transportation to the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

Guests may choose to take a taxi from the ceremony to the reception. It is an 8-minute drive between the Basilica and Palazzo Brancaccio. MyTaxi is a popular app in Rome that allows you to order or pre-order your taxi. First time user can receive a 10 euro credit with the code 7682gd. Guests may also choose to walk. It is a 15-20 minute scenic walk from the Basilica to Palazzo Brancaccio.

Question

Can I use my cellphone in Rome?

Answer

Most coffee shops (bars), restaurants, and hotels in Rome provide free wifi access if you ask for the wifi code. If you want to use your American cellphone number, you can talk to your cellphone provider to unlock your international fare. For Verizon users, your smart phone is unlocked and you can purchase a sim card for 15-20 euros at the airport, train station, or any Tabacchi store (This is what our family has done in the past). We highly recommend that at least one person in your travel group have access to their cellphones during the trip.
