The Roaring Fork Valley is a world-class fly fishing destination with pristine rivers and streams. Anglers can enjoy casting on the Roaring Fork River, Fryingpan River, and Crystal River, all offering excellent trout fishing. Some of our favorite shops include Taylor Creek Fly Shop, Aspen Outfitting Company, and Alpine Angling.
While many of the course will have closed for the season, River Valley Ranch in Carbondale will still be open. Alternatively, The Ranch at Roaring Fork is an inexpensive and walkable par 3 course!
The Roaring Fork Valley is home to some of the best biking in Colorado, with trails ranging from beginner-friendly paths to expert-level downhill runs. By mid-October, trail conditions can be variable depending on recent weather cycles. E-bike rentals can also make for excellent adventures. Please also be aware that many of the rental shops will have closed for the season.
