The venue is outside and has large covered and uncovered areas. The reception dining area is under a large pavilion with walls on 2 sides. It is on a pear orchard with stunning views of Mt Hood and Mt Adams on opposite sides. There is a 3-Unit luxury bathroom trailer with AC & heat, flushing toilets, and running hot & cold water. 1 of the units is ADA-compliant with a ramp. There are small areas were you will be walking on gravel, however most of the venue will be grass and concrete flooring. The venue does not have any steep inclines and is ADA accessible.
The weather in Hood River is typically warm (high 70s, low 80s), sunny, and a little windy in the area. It is generally quite comfortable this time of year with a very minimal chance of rain. Due to the location and relative elevation, there are typically not many bug or pests. A lawn tent will be set up for the ceremony if there does happen to be a chance of rain or excessive heat that day.
We would love to see our family and friends dressed up with us! We are requesting semi formal garden party dress code for the evening and lots of color! For men, this means a suit or dress shirt paired with dress pants, no shorts please. For women, cocktail dresses, midi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or elegant separates. Wear whatever colors you would like, but please no white. There will also be a lot of grass so I would advise against stilettos.
Please arrive to the venue around 3:30pm but no earlier than 3pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm. Bar will be open before the ceremony begins for those who arrive early.
Yes! Hood river has little to no ride share options so we will be providing a local shuttle for pick and drop off for your convenience and safety. There are some area's with winding roads nearby, and we hope that all our guests will enjoy themselves to the fullest without endangering themselves and others. The shuttle pick up location(s) is TBD . We will strive to come up with a solution that best serves our guests once we have a better idea of where they will choose to stay.
Yes! There is plenty of parking available at The Orchard if you decide to drive to the venue instead of taking shuttle transportation. You must leave by 10pm and you cannot leave you car over night at the venue.
The food service will be provided by Celilo catering which operates out of and exclusively services this venue. They offer options for all diets and use fresh local ingredients, some of which you may see as you enter the property. Emily and Lucas will work with their team in the months leading up to the wedding to finalize the menu offerings. Expect some appetizers during cocktail hour with the main meal being severed family style, including salad, 2 entrees options, and a few different sides.
A variety of local beer, wine, and champagne will be offered in addition to two signature cocktails and one mocktail which will be selected in the months leading up to the event. There is no drink limit so guests can enjoy as they see fit. There will be non-alcoholic options of Assorted Fruit Sodas, Soft Drinks & Sparkling Water, Coffee and Tea at the bar, as well as self serve canisters for Iced Tea, Lemonade & Iced Water. Bar service will end at 9:30pm.
While the event is tailored for adults, those in the family with children are welcome to bring them to celebrate with us. They will need to be accounted for in your RSVP when those go out. The venue will be able to provide a secluded area if there are nursing mothers attending.
Please feel free to reach out to Emily or Lucas directly, we'd love to help as we are able! We are still working out some of the details and will update here where applicable.
