Come see where Jeffery proposed, feel free to climb to the top if the lighthouse is open!
The hotel and venue are located on a public beach. While in the Outer Banks, we hope you get the chance to enjoy the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and its vast beaches.
Join a Steinmiller tradition and stop at Jockey's Ridge. Now that the sand has been blown away, you can see the uncovered sand castle (visible from the road or by parking at Kitty Hawk Kites), which was once used for a mini golf course. This State Park can be accessed from the Kitty Hawk Kites parking lot or from their State Park parking lot.
See where flight was born, another neat National Historic Site. This one charges a fee to visit the site. The view from the top of the memorial is breathtaking.
A great handicap accessible concrete pier with a small aquarium that overlooks the ocean - we frequent this pier often. It is a sister location to the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island.
This is our favorite aquarium and the home of STAR, the only Sea Turtle Assistance & Rehabilitation Team in this area that treats and releases Sea Turtles back into the wild. If you have time to spare, we highly recommend checking them out.
This National Historic Site talks about the Lost Colony of Roanoke. There is a reconstructed fort and plenty of information for any history lover. It also has beautiful trails that overlook the Pamlico Sound.
Another great lighthouse to climb if open, if not it is a cute one to view. We have a thing for lighthouses if you couldn't tell.
This is the only distillery within the National Seashore. They have fantastic vodka and rum that they distill in-house. They have a shipwreck series that is based on shipwrecks of the Outer Banks.
