St. Louis, MO and Elsewhere to Scranton, PA by Plane Both American Airlines and United operate connecting flights from STL to AVP (Avoca, PA). The Radisson Hotel offers a shuttle service to/from the airport (9-minute drive). There are many direct flights to Newark, NJ (92 miles from Scranton), Allentown/Lehigh Valley (73 miles), and Philadelphia (130 miles). See below instructions from Newark Airport to Scranton. - Newark International Airport (EWR) to Scranton, PA by Bus From the Airport, New Jersey Transit Operates a bus every 15 minutes to the Newark Transit Center (Newark Penn Station) Greyhound operates a daily 3PM non-stop service from Newark Transit Center (1 Raymond Plaza W, Newark, NJ 07102) to the Scranton Bus Center (23 Lackawanna Ave, Scranton PA 18503). The trip is two hours and tickets are typically less than $40. The Scranton Bus Center is located just under ½ a mile from the Radisson.

St. Louis, MO to Scranton, PA by Train While it may be Alan’s favorite way to travel, there has not been passenger rail service to Scranton since 1970 (hopefully that will change soon). Amtrak does offer daily service to Syracuse with a connecting bus to Scranton in just under 23 total hours and comparable prices to airlines From the St Louis Amtrak Station (430 S 15th St, St. Louis, MO 63103) - Depart 3:00pm on Train 304 Lincoln Service - Arrive 8:40pm at Chicago Union Station - Depart 9:30pm on Train 48 the Lake Shore Limited (sleeper car service available) - Arrive 11:15am to Syracuse Amtrak/Bus station - Depart 11:50am on Greyhound Route 0317 to Scranton - Arrive 2:40pm at Scranton Bus Station (1/2 mile from Radisson)
