We’ve been together for 8 years, so you could imagine a lot has happened along the way. We’ll try to summarize it in 4000 characters or less! We met through mutual friends (but really Twitter) and began dating the summer before our senior year of high school. Marty even transferred to Kora's high school because he was so obsessed with her! (Just kidding, it was to play soccer). When college decisions rolled around, Marty chose USD and Kora chose UF, so we decided to embark on our own journeys (and Kora and her mom cried together on the flight to Gainesville). During the spring of our freshman year, we reconnected because we both couldn't stop thinking about each other. We decided to get back together and dated long distance for the remainder of college. We were always counting down the days until our next visit. The highlights include Florida game days, family vacations, spring breaks, concerts, and holidays. (Somehow Alex Jana, our officiant, was present at 80% of those reunions). In February 2020, Marty’s father, Dan, was diagnosed with cancer. COVID hit soon after, but the silver lining was that Kora returned home from college early to support Marty and his family. After years of long distance, we were grateful to finally be together, especially during the most difficult time of our lives. After everything we had been through, we couldn’t have been more confident in our future together. Marty (finally) proposed during a hike at Lake Dillon in June 2021. We have enjoyed our long engagement, but we are so excited to finally get married! We appreciate all of the love and support from our friends and family during our journey together. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all in one of our favorite places!
