Located on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail in the heart of horse country, Woodford Reserve Distillery is a must-see for bourbon lovers and history buffs alike. Take a tour of the grounds or try a cocktail on their back patio - the views and the bourbon won't disappoint!
A personal favorite - originally built in 1887, this distillery was left abandoned after it shut down due to prohibition. In 2014, two Lexington attorneys bought the site and began a painstaking restoration that resulted in this gorgeous property. With a European-inspired castle, sunken garden, botanical walking trail, natural springs, and fabulous cocktails, this place is Kentucky at its finest.
What was once the James E. Pepper Distillery is now an eclectic mix of businesses and attractions close to downtown Lexington. Home to one of our favorite local breweries. Check out The Burl (arcade bar/live music venue), Battle Axes (axe throwing), Barrel House Distillery, Crank and Boom (craft ice cream), Wise Bird (cider brewery), Fusion Brewing, Relic (eclectic antiques/vintage house wears), Brevede (coffee shop), and Goodfellas (Lexington's best pizza - NY style), all located in the Distillery District. Be sure to give this place a visit!
