James Chandler Palmer & Abigail Elizabeth

FAQs

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We’re excited to host a Welcome Party the night before the wedding at the Salem Waterfront Hotel from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. It’s a relaxed, fun evening where everyone is warmly invited to join us, catch up, and enjoy small bites and drinks to kick off the celebration together. Additionally, there will be an after party following the wedding reception hosted at the Mainstay Social at the Salem Waterfront Hotel beginning at 10:30 pm. We hope you’ll plan to stick around for more fun! Because many of our guests are coming from out of town, we’ll be staying in Boston after the wedding to spend more time with everyone for the week following our wedding. We highly recommend exploring Boston and the beautiful sights of New England, and we’d love to coordinate some fun group activities as the date approaches.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask that you please RSVP no later than July 5, 2026, to give us ample time to confirm final numbers with our vendors!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests arrive by 4:00 PM, which is 30 minutes before the ceremony begins. This allows time to find your seat, take in the beautiful surroundings, and settle in before we say "I do." The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM — and we’d love for everyone to be there to share in that special moment right from the start!

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Our celebration will be Black Tie — Coastal Garden Elegance.

Question

What does "Coastal Garden Elegance" mean exactly?

Answer

We invite you to dress in black tie attire with a touch of coastal garden charm. Think formal, refined, and celebratory, with colors and textures inspired by the shoreline and lush outdoor gardens. For Women: Floor-length gowns or sophisticated dressy separates. Soft, airy fabrics like chiffon, silk, or organza pair beautifully with the coastal garden setting. Pastels, ocean-inspired hues, florals, or classic neutrals are all welcome. Chunky heels, dressy sandals, or wedges are appropriate for outdoor terrain. For Men: A tuxedo is preferred but a dark suit is welcome.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We’ll be providing transportation to and from the wedding, with all shuttles running to and from the Salem Waterfront Hotel. To make things as easy and seamless as possible, we highly recommend staying at the Salem Waterfront Hotel or at a nearby hotel that’s within walking distance. This way, you’ll be able to conveniently access the transportation and fully enjoy the celebration without worrying about driving or parking.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes — the venue does have on-site parking available for local guests who prefer to drive. However, we highly recommend using the transportation provided from the Salem Waterfront Hotel if you're staying nearby. It’s a stress-free way to get to and from the celebration, and helps us keep everything running smoothly throughout the day.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with our closest loved ones! If your invitation includes a guest by name or says “and guest,” then absolutely — we’d love for you to bring them. If not, we kindly ask that you attend solo this time. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep the celebration intimate and meaningful!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we absolutely love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. The venue is located on the waterfront with cliffs and uneven terrain. For everyone's safety and peace of mind, we’ve made the difficult decision to keep the event limited to adult guests only. To help make things easier, we’re offering complimentary childcare at the hotel where our room block is located during the wedding. If you feel strongly about having your child present for a specific reason, please feel free to reach out — we’re happy to talk through it with you.
