Our Story

As juniors in high school, Scotty asked Lauren to homecoming in 2014 via a note, flowers, and a special messenger while he was on the football field and she was in the stands with the band.

The week after their first homecoming dance, Lauren and Scotty started dating on September 27th, 2014.

Lauren and Scotty went to many events together when they first started going on dates. One of their first dates was Bayfest, a music festival in downtown Mobile.

This couple always supported each other- Lauren went to every football game of Scotty"s and Scotty attended every Color Guard/Marching Band competition for Lauren!

Lauren & Scotty went to prom together, where they danced the night away one last time as high schoolers!

These two knew after graduation that the distance would not make things easy. But they made it work!

Lauren and Scotty spent plenty of time together during summers, frequently attending Hangout Fest and other concerts, as well as plenty of beach trips.

Lauren visited Scotty frequently at Auburn when he was there for two years.

Scotty found himself at many South Alabama events and was interested in the programs USA had to offer for his newfound career goal as an occupational therapist (having Lauren there was also a perk!)

The couple both graduated from the University of South Alabama with their bachelor's degrees in December 2020.

Lauren & Scotty traveled to Mexico after their graduation, where they explored caverns and ate lots of great food!

Lauren started working as a registered nurse in the intensive care setting in 2021 and started nurse practitioner school in 2024!

Lauren and Scotty are avid participants in all things Mardi Gras!

Whether the parties were disco themed, SpongeBob themed, or “dress as your type” themed, there was always something to celebrate. Having a friend group as close as ours always made for a fun time!

Lauren and Scotty practically live in downtown Mobile, always attending a ball or exploring a new restaurant or hanging out at a festival!

Scotty graduated with his Master's in Occupational Therapy degree in December 2023, with Lauren as his biggest supporter!

In January of 2024, to celebrate Scotty’s graduation from occupational therapy school, Lauren and Scotty took a trip to Europe- the best graduation gift ever from his Mom!

Their trip took them to Rome, Florence, Venice, Paris, and London. An incredible trip was augmented by the bond shared between two people in love experiencing these places for the first time together.

Lauren had been to London and Paris before, of course, and thank goodness—Scotty will absolutely be the first to tell you he is directionally challenged and needed her assistance getting anywhere

Lauren & Scotty continued with date nights as Scotty secretly saved up for a ring once he started his first job as an occupational therapist.

Europe was not where he proposed, however—he waited 9 months later, on their 10-year dating anniversary in Washington Square. He set up a scavenger hunt throughout Mobile, ending with Lauren’s ring.

Though he could barely get the words out, with 10 years of history behind this couple, Scotty asked Lauren to marry her with his final clue.

Since then, Lauren and Scotty have been diligently planning their wedding. We are so excited to celebrate this milestone with the best family and friends!
