Nina and Mark attend this farmers market almost every week in the Summer to get fruit, vegetables, and baked goods, many baked goods. We recommend biking (city ebikes are available around SLC). With +100 vendors each week expect to find fruit, vegetables, baked goods, food trucks, artists, musicians & more!
The Natural History Museum of Utah boasts an impressive collection of fossils and is a perfect place to spend an afternoon. Located at the top of the U of U campus next door to Red Butte Botanical Gardens (another lovely excursion) and at the start of the Bonneville Shoreline trail (a nice flat hike with stunning views), you will be able to see the entire city & the Great Salt Lake down below.
Take a scenic drive! Take a hike or mountain bike! Big & Little Cottonwood are the secret to what make Salt Lake so great! In the winter they offer skiing but in the summer Solitude, Snowbird, Brighton & Alta offer world class hiking & views. Drive to the top of Guardsman Pass or hike Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood. Walk around Alta or enjoy Snowbird's spa in Little Cottonwood.
A great place to grab drinks or dinner, especially if Salt Lake is feeling too hot. Nina & Mark's favorite spots are High West, the Eating Establishment, & the Tanner Trading Co. We recommend driving there via Big Cottonwood & Guardsman Pass for additional beautiful views.
Nina & Mark's neighborhood! Tree filled, pedestrian friendly, and a perfect place to spend the morning or afternoon walking around. Grab a drink at Hopkins Brewing, Sugarhouse Coffee, or Tea Zanti. Eat at Sugar House Station, Aubergine, or the Blind Rabbit. Go shopping in Pibb's Thrift, Raunch Records, or Central Book Exchange. Or if none of that sounds nice, take a walk around Sugarhouse Park with wonderful views of the Wasatch Mountains, maybe you'll run into Nina, Mark & Millie!
Check out the Deer Creek Express for a scenic train ride and grab a bite to eat at the Lake House https://thelakehousedeercreek.com/
