Our story began in Fairbanks, Alaska, in September 2024. Eli was busy with school, and Mark had just returned from India, perfect timing for two paths to cross in the most unexpected corner of the North. Our first date was a walk with our dog, Arya, on September 30th at the Creamer’s Field trails. The date began with a very professional, firm handshake… immediately followed by Arya launching herself at Mark as if to say, “I already LOVE him.” Thankfully, Mark took Arya’s enthusiasm as a good omen and kept saying yes to many, many walks after that. On November 3rd, 2024, we made it official, and our love has only grown. Then, on July 26th, 2025, Mark got down on one knee, Eli said YES, and Arya probably assumed it was all for her. Now, we can’t wait to celebrate this beautiful and joyful love of ours with all of you.
