FAQs

We are so excited to celebrate with you! To make planning easier, we've put together some answers to the most common questions guests may have about the weekend. If there's anything we didn't cover, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is Black Tie Preferred. We kindly ask guests to dress in formal evening attire. Women should wear floor-length gowns (any color except white or ivory). While our bridesmaids will be in black, guests are welcome to wear black if they feel comfortable. Men may wear a tuxedo or a black suit with a tie.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate if a plus-one has been included. We are only able to accommodate the guest names listed on your invitation.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adult-only celebration. We kindly ask that you make arrangements for children so you can relax and enjoy the evening with us.

Question

Are the events indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All events will take place indoors, so weather won't be an issue. Ladies, no need to worry about our hair getting frizzy!

Question

Do you have a hotel room block?

Answer

Yes – rooms are reserved at the Mayflower Hotel at a special rate of $209 + a 15% city tax. You will be able to take advantage of this rate beginning October 8, 2026, and details will be communicated in the Travel section of our site once available.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

You will have the option to communicate dietary restrictions when you RSVP and the venue will be able to accommodate all needs.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Duh! We will have 5 hours of premium liquor selections, domestic beer options, and red and white wines.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request an unplugged ceremony. We'd love for everyone to be present in the moment – once cocktail hour begins, feel free to take as many photos as you'd like!

Question

What's the weather like in DC in October?

Answer

DC weather can be unpredictable, but you can generally expect comfortable fall weather! Humidity should be low, and temperatures should be in the 70s. Everything will be indoors, but pack layers and check the weather closer to the wedding weekend.
