Option to park and walk to the easily accessible viewpoint at Sahalie Falls, or plan for the 2.6 mile loop trail through old growth rainforest to visit both Sahalie and Koosah Falls together. 20 minute drive from venue.
4 mile out-and-back hike from parking to the Blue Pool, a cliff-rimmed basin with a turquoise pool formed by a river resurfacing through lava. 16 minute drive from venue.
The McKenzie is known for world-class whitewater rafting. Horse Creek Outfitters, High Country Expeditions, and Ouzel Outfitters are all great companies to explore guided whitewater rafting tours in the region. Most trips start close to the venue!
If you're traveling to/from Bend or Redmond, we recommend taking the scenic route to/from McKenzie Bridge! It adds a few more turns and a little extra time, but you'll find yourself in the thick of old lava flow and among the snow-covered peaks of the Cascades.

Moderate Difficulty: Canyon Creek Meadows Loop (Lower Meadow) Coffin Mountain Trail and Fire Lookout Duffy Lake Trail Challenging: No Name Lake Canyon Creek Meadows - Full/Upper Meadow/Cirque Lake + Viewpoint Saddle Tam McArther Rim Trail Many of these require pre-purchased permits through USFS and careful planning.
