Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Yes, we have rooms blocked at The Westin Governor Morris. The room rate per night is $205 plus tax/fees. Upon check in; a hotel attendant will provide you with a "Welcome Wedding Bag" with goodies and details about Marina and Mike's Wedding Day! Your package includes overnight stay, transportation to/from Venue and Breakfast. Is there transportation to and from the Westin Governor Morris?

Yes, there will be a complimentary shuttle service offered from the Hotel to the Park Savoy at 5:15pm. Shuttle service from the Park Savoy back to Westin Governor Morris will begin at 11:00pm. Look for Lombardi/DeCandia Wedding Shuttle to Park Savoy, Florham Park. P.S. The Park Savoy is just 4.1 miles away (9 minutes)

How long is the Church service?

Answer

A Greek Orthodox Wedding generally last about 90 minutes. During a Greek Orthodox wedding, the husband and wife are meant to experience a wide range of traditions, symbolisms, and prayers in order to celebrate the core meaning of marriage. Often throughout the ceremony many things are done in three's, which represents the Holy Trinity – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The wedding consists of two parts: the Service of Betrothal and the Service of the Crowning. The latter consists of five sections: The Prayers; Readings from Scripture; the Common Cup; the Procession and final Blessings.

Help!!! Time lag between Church ceremony and reception?

Answer

Local guests, an option can be to dress business casual to the Church and either return back to the hotel since check in at 4pm or to return home to freshen up and/or change into formal attire and shuttle at 5:15pm to The Park Savoy Estate for a 6pm cocktail hour. Out of town guests you are welcome to go to the Westin and relax in the lobby area and/or have a cocktail at the Blue Morel Restaurant located in the Hotel.

Can I bring my Children to the Reception?

To give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little hands and feet, we politely request no Children at the reception, however they are welcome to go to the Church.

Although Children are not invited to the reception, can they attend the church service?

Answer

Yes, we welcome your family to come witness the Betrothal and Crowning Service which begins promptly at 2:00pm. No formal attire required at the Church.

Please reach out to Marina or Mike directly, and they will coordinate with the venue. Additional, upon arrival at the Park Savoy, please let the attendee know of your dietary restrictions.

Will I experience anything unique at the Reception?

Answer

Yes, welcome to our big Greek/Italian Wedding! There is no wedding without music and dancing! The first dance is the Greek Kalamatiano, where the bride and groom hold hands and lead family and friends in a circle dance followed by the Italian Tarantella! Often seen at Greek American wedding, involve guests showering the newlyweds with money while they dance. Bring your singles - OPA!
