Things To Do

The Wedding Website of José David Méndez and María Isabel Aguayo
Toledo, Spain—a city renowned as the "City of Three Cultures" due to its rich history of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish coexistence. Toledo's labyrinthine streets, historic architecture, and vibrant cultural heritage make it a captivating destination. We hope you enjoy what this small city has to offer. Please reach out to us if you'd like more recommendations than the ones listed below.

Toledo Cathedral

1 Calle Cardenal Cisneros, Toledo, Toledo 45002, Spain

Regarded as the "Catedral Primada" in Spain, it is the most important cathedral in the country. Marvel at the soaring columns, intricate design and masterpieces by El Greco and Goya.

Mirador del Valle

s/n Carretera Circunvalación, Toledo, CM 45004, Spain

Mirador del Valle is a renowned viewpoint situated just outside Toledo's historic center, offering one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Perched on the southern edge of the city, it provides an elevated perspective of Toledo's medieval skyline, nestled within a bend of the Tagus River. It is a breathtaking view, but in our opinion it's best to see it at night. For reference, check out the picture in the header, but we promise it doesn't do justice.

Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes

17 Calle de los Reyes Católicos, Toledo, CM 45002, Spain

Explore this stunning Isabelline Gothic monastery, originally intended as a royal mausoleum. We tried getting married here, but the wait-list is 3+ years!

Museo de El Greco

s/n Paseo del Tránsito, Toledo, CM 45002, Spain

Discover the works of the renowned painter El Greco in this museum housed in a 16th-century building.

Viñedos Cigarral Santa María

S/N Cerro del Emperador, Toledo, CM 45002, Spain

An estate featuring a large lounge, terrace overlooking Toledo, and a vineyard.

Puy du Fou España

Toledo, CM 45004, Spain

Puy du Fou España, located in Toledo, is a unique historical theme park that offers immersive experiences through spectacular shows and reenactments. The park is renowned for its grand nighttime performance, El Sueño de Toledo (The Dream of Toledo), which has been recognized as the best show in the world. It is also a theme-park during the daytime. We haven't been ourselves, but will make sure we have time to go in October after the wedding. All the locals recommended it with spectacular reviews.

Adolfo Restaurante

7 Calle del Hombre de Palo, Toledo, CM 45001, Spain

Michelin-starred restaurant located in the heart of Toledo, Spain, just steps from the city’s majestic cathedral. Housed in a beautifully preserved 12th-century building on Calle Hombre de Palo, this restaurant combines the rich architectural history of Toledo with cutting-edge gastronomy.

Restaurante Alfileritos 24

24 Calle Alfileritos, Toledo, CM 45003, Spain

A stylish and multi-level eatery set in a historic building that blends traditional architecture with modern design. Great for a casual and delicious dinner. Filled with local families and young souls in dates. We would describe the food as classic Spanish cuisine with a modern twist.

Taberna el Botero

5 Calle de la Ciudad, Toledo, CM 45002, Spain

Toledo has a million tabernas. These cozy establishments often feature rustic decor, wooden tables, and an inviting atmosphere, serving up classic tapas, regional wines, and refreshing beers—making them perfect for socializing and experiencing authentic Spanish culture. Our favorite one is Taberna Botero, where the newly weds went multiple times for gin tonics and wine. It's a small establishment that gets packed with locals from 3-5pm, the time in Spain where establishments close and locals get ready for a siesta, or in this case, a refreshing drink with company. Find a taberna in the city, sit down with a glass of beer, and enjoy!

Taberna Embrujo

6 Calle Santa Leocadia, Toledo, CM 45002, Spain

Another taberna we particularly enjoyed with outdoor seating.

Mazapanes Santo Tomé

28 Calle de Santo Tomé, Toledo, CM 45002, Spain

This shop on Santo Tomé St was first established in 1856. Mazapanes are traditional almond-based sweets known for their delicate, melt-in-the-mouth texture and subtle sweetness. A great sweet bite with a cup of coffee in the morning.

Cuerho House Of Leather

5 Plaza de las Cuatro Calles, Toledo, CM 45001, Spain

A family-owned leather shop with multiple locations across the old town. Established over 30 years ago, the store offers a wide range of high-quality leather products, including handbags, wallets, belts, and accessories. Customers often praise the craftsmanship and design of the items, noting that they rival those found in renowned leather markets like Florence, Italy. Many patrons highlight the store's affordability compared to other European destinations, making it a popular choice for both locals and tourists seeking authentic Spanish leather goods.

Cerámica J Serrano

16 Calle San Juan de Dios, Toledo, CM 45002, Spain

A house specializing in the reproduction of antique ceramics. This entity features a large collection of artistic ceramics completely hand-decorated, showcasing the influences of various traditional Toledo cultures, in a talavera style of pottery, originally founded in Toledo.

Cuartero House - Toledo - Since 1920

The shop offers a curated selection of high-quality Spanish delicacies, including artisanal marzipan, Manchego and goat cheeses, Iberian cured meats, and a diverse range of over 200 wines. Locals say they have the best manchego cheese in the world.
