This is one of Daisy's favorite places to go walk through the woods in Memorial Park. A short drive from downtown, it takes you away from the excitement of the city.
Spend a day, or even just an afternoon watching the animals. In the middle of Hermann Park, it's gorgeous.
It's so beautiful and peaceful. Maria has run these paths many times. We recommend the Centennial Gardens and the Japanese Gardens. Or grab a book, and relax somewhere off the beaten path.
Close to Midtown and the Medical Center, it has art museums, children's museums, natural science museums, history museums - there is something for everyone.
It's right by the sports stadiums, in "EDO". Named for a Houston landmark, the 8th Wonder of the world, The Houston Astrodome, they have some great brews and a fun, inner-city ambiance of outdoor seating.
Our favorite, because of their clever and vast flavors, and it's in our neighborhood!
We've never been here TOGETHER, but it's a big part of Houston and its fame. If you have a bit more time, it's about a 45 minute drive from downtown; but definitely worth the trip!
Houston is known for it's wide range of world-class restaurants. But, if you want more of a local preference some of our favorite places are.. Tacos A GoGo - margaritas (our favorite), tacos and white queso King's Bierhaus - sausages and giant German brews The Pit Room - Bar-b-q Snooze - Breakfast is their specialty - get there early! Jus' Mac - Mac and Cheese so many ways Fat Cat Creamery - unique, limited-edition ice cream flavors Pi Pizza - we started eating their pies when they were just a food truck in The Heights, some of our first date nights
