Question

What’s the Deal with Camping?

Answer

We have two large group sites reserved for us! Site 2 is ours for four nights (Check in at 2 pm or later on July 18th and camp happy through check out on the 22nd at 11 am) or Site 3 (check in after the ceremony on the 20th and check out on the 21st at 11 am)! Please RSVP accordingly! If your camping for the weekend please choose Site 2! If you will be camping for an extended period of time at site 2 please reach out to Chris Napp!

Question

How far away from Durango is Haviland Lake?

Answer

Haviland is about 15 to 20 min North of town! It’s about 15 to 20 min south of Purgatory Resort! Look out for the Horse crossing signs for Rapps Coral which is at the turn off or any Brown Park signs that have the turn for Chris Park/Haviland Lake marked.

Question

What is a day at a mountain lake like?

Answer

Beautiful with constantly changing weather. I once asked Uncle Paul how to predict the weather in mountainous areas and he replied “Just be prepared for everything”. It could rain, it could even possibly snow, it could be hot and buggy, or cool and windy. The water should be warmer as the snowmelt gets heated up by the sun but may be a bit murky. Please pack comfortably but prepared!
