Much like Jillian’s favorite movie, The Sound of Music, Jillian and Kelly traipsed through the Alps in the Summer of 2008 on a MSU study abroad. Many Spartan wins, concerts, and sing-a-longs later, they now enjoy living in the same neighborhood again in Chicago.

Allie and Jillian met when Jillian came into Room 117 at Hayt Elementary School four years ago to teach music to Allie’s first grade class. They bonded over great music, dancing, and wine before becoming roommates in July 2017 where Allie tolerates her silly pranks and spontaneous outbursts in song.
Angie Tripi

Angie and Jillian met at St. John’s Student Parish on an alternative Spring Break trip to Philadelphia. It was on this trip where they had a dance party with nuns (memorialized in their band’s name “Dancing with Nuns”) and Angie allegedly touched the Liberty Bell, which sealed their friendship for life.
Diane Bell

Diane and Jillian have been friends for thousand and millions of chlorine filled yards. While Jillian could only aspire to master turns like Diane, they enjoyed thrilling conversations over ten seconds of rest. After Diane’s first European sojourn, they reconnected in Snyder-Phillips hall at MSU before moving to separate singles in Landon Hall where they could yell to each other from floor to floor to meet in the cafeteria.

When Jillian met Emily she was still in high school, and from the very beginning, Emily has welcomed her into the Coleman family with warmth and love. Despite their obvious college football rivalry, we both agree that Marcus is one great guy. Jillian always wanted a sister, and now she’s getting a great one!
Lauren Hayes

Lauren and Jillian met on the very first day of college when Lauren was laughing about how her laundry detergent had exploded all over her suitcase. Living across the hall they quickly bonded over their love of music, karaoke, and themed costume parties. Roommates for a year and sister friends for life, they rarely go three months without seeing each other despite living across the country.

Tessa and Jillian met at Hayt Elementary where Tessa is a Second Grade teacher. Immediately, Jillian admired Tessa’s amazing patience and sweet disposition and wanted to be friends. After many Bachelor nights and rounds of trivia they became fast friends and confidantes. While Jillian gets overly competitive at trivia, Tessa humbly dominates at politics and current events, all while laughing at Jillian’s antics.
Eric Voigt
Best Man
Eric T. Voigt and Marcus have been friends since the second grade. They’ve gone from marching side by side in the Tulip Time Parade and drawing comics in the back of classrooms, to being former roommates and drawing comics in the back of bars and coffeeshops. Many have compared them to the protagonist George and Harold from Dav Pikey’s Captain Underpants series. They’re okay with that comparison.
Kiel Nowakowski

Kiel and Marcus played football together in Middle School and became friends through their shared connections to Eric T. Voigt and Ryan Murray. Kiel was the first person to introduce Marcus to two of his favorite bands, Cake and Modest Mouse,while they were in Middle School. Together they worked at the Apple store in Grand Rapids and both moved to Chicago where they became roommates in Wicker Park.

Eric Perez and Marcus met at work the summer Marcus moved to Chicago. They became fast friends bonding over pop culture and their mutual appreciation for creative handshakes. Eric has been Jillian and Marcus go-to fan for all things White Sox related (including gifting them tickets to many games!).
Sergio Diaz
Groomsman
Sergio is one of the coolest, humblest guys Marcus has ever met. When Marcus started at his job in Chicago, Sergio was one of the first people to invite him out and hang. Sergio is someone Jillian and Marcus consider part of their extended Chicago family.
Kenny Baker

Marcus remembers seeing Kenny his freshman year of high school and thinking “That has to be Jillian Baker’s brother”. In high school they were in Theatre and Swimming together. Kenny even tells a funny story about Marcus giving him a ride to swim practice. Marcus is now excited to call his former teammate his family now!
Joe Baker

Marcus met Joe when he was still in High School. Marcus remembers waiting on Jillian to get back from managing Bouws pool one summer, and hanging out with Joe while he was shredding on the guitar in the Baker’s basement. Marcus looks forward to being part of the family with Joe and getting join the Bakers in cheering him on when he performs!

Kyle has been Jillian’s honorary third brother from age 5 when she was his babysitter. Jillian is honored to have the 6th Baker in our wedding.

Alex and Marcus became fast friends over their mutual appreciation of sneakers. Along with being one of his closest friends at work, Alex has become a close friend of Jillian and they both are excited to have him be part of their wedding.
