Holland has a lovely downtown with breweries & brewpubs: Hops, Big Lake Brewery, New Holland & Curragh are all located on 8th St/9th St. Restaurants include Butch’s, Alpenrose, and the Windmill (for breakfast.) The Farmer’s Market is on Saturday mornings. Treats include Blueberry doughnuts & Ray the Tamale King lunches. The Holland State Park Beach is a short drive away. Go North on River Avenue, turn left at the light (Douglas Ave which become Ottawa Beach Rd.) and Drive west until you are at the State Park. Swim, walk, climb Mt.Pisgah. Saugatuck is a fun resort town just south of Holland. You can ride the Dune Buggies,go to Saugutuck Brewery or the Mitten Brewery, stroll the streets or walk along the river. Places to eat are Wally’s, Phil’s, The Southerner, Ida Red’s (breakfast only), The Butler & Lucy’s Little Kitchen. Oval Beach is also a fun beach. Grand Rapids is Beer City. Founders, Brewery Viviant, New Holland, Harmony, HopCat, the Downtown Market The Bob are all fun places.
