For art lovers - you can't miss the Nelson! Its completely free and has a wide range of art, including Impressionism (Marcea's fave), contemporary and more!
When in Kansas City, you have to try a Boulevard Wheat. Stop by the tasting room to check out other seasonal brews as well!
By the time of our wedding, the Riverfront is going to be a fun hotspot of activity! With new bars opening, a sand volleyball court and a pretty walking path, this is a fun spot! Bonus if the KC Currents have a game that you can catch!
The River Market is where you can check out the Farmer's Market over the weekend! Check out some local vendors, buy some flowers, and maybe get a coffee or sandwich or stop in the Italian grocery store and pick up some olives for Marcea. Head downtown a little bit further to get some coffee and sandwiches at Mildreds!
If you are wanting to do some bar hopping or if you want to check out some fun coffee shops, head to the Crossroads! Casual Animal has great vibes and great beer, City Barrel has amazing loaded fries and Jim's Alley Bar has the best dirty martini in the city. Cafe Corazon is a tasty coffee shop stop, but you must check out Messenger for the full Kansas City experience (and see if they have the cheese slipper bread).
Westport is full of 20-somethings in bars, but it is also home to a lot of great food & vintage stops. Pot Pie is an excellent choice for a more intimate setting and the flakiest crust you've ever seen. Westport Flea Market has great burger deals on Sundays. The cross street of Westport and Broadway is riddled with unique thrift stores - take a little walk with some coffee and pop into whichever spots speak to you!
If you have a car, you gotta stop in Brookside! There are lots of fun food options; Aixois if you are feeling French, Bella Napoli if you want a nice sandwich, etc. More importantly, stop in the cutest shop in Kansas City: J'adore Home and Garden. I hear the owners are great guys and they might even let you pet their dog Winston!!
