Ocracoke is rich in North Carolina history. During WWII a British ship was sunk by a German U-boat close to the shores of Ocracoke. Only 4 sailers' bodies were recovered and this plot of land is their final resting place.
A great place to get oysters and local seafood.
One of our favorite breweries!
Everything from pizza to locally caught seafood dishes in a casual atmosphere.
Springer's Point is a nature preserve with walking trails through the live oaks that lead to the sound. Legend has it that the beach at Springer's Point was one of Blackbeard's favorite party beaches and he was captured a few hundred yards from here.
