Approaching the summer of 2018, I was in-between housing contracts. Luckily, my adoptive mother (Vinny) had an open room in Apt B. The move-in process was rudely interrupted by a hand wiggling through the mail slot of Apt B's door, making a clanking noise that grabbed everyone's attention. While I was extremely concerned about the attempted break in, my new roommates were unfazed. The door opened and in strode Aaron, with the confident as ever. He sat down in the chair across from me and the other ladies of Apt B, and proclaimed, "I have a proposition. I'm getting a dog and I want you to watch it." As many of you know, he went through with this proposition. Since my roommates had real people jobs, the dog sitting responsibilities fell upon me (at the time a junior in undergrad). We started by sitting across from each other on the stairs between the apartments, discussing music, books and of course talking about how sweet our little puppy is. That talking grew to trust and partnership, as we both entered challenging times in our lives. There isn't anyone in the world that I would rather buddy up with on this rollercoaster of life.
