Matt and Mal met in the summer of 2016 while working for different companies at Gravitate Coworking in Des Moines, IA. She was new in town, and he was an outgoing and friendly guy. Through two years worth of community events, after-work volleyball games, and lengthy DnD sessions, they got to know each other. The chemistry was tough to ignore, even though they both tried really hard. Finally, in April 2018, Matt spilled his feelings to the newly-single Mallory, who tried to keep her cool as she confessed that she liked him very much as well. They've been inseparable ever since. Over the past three years they've had a blast traveling all around the U.S. in their converted church van, streaming tons of Star Trek, and people-watching from the balcony of their downtown Des Moines apartment. Matt popped the question on February 8, 2021. After all the isolation and upheaval of 2020, it was important to Mal and Matt to have a wedding that focused on quality time with and among their closest friends and family. Their non-traditional celebration of nuptials will be a laid-back beach party with food, drinks, music, games, and lots of love and friendship.
