If you live in the Northeast region and prefer to drive to Martha’s Vineyard there are a couple of options ranging in convenience and price. Woods Hole Steamship Authority Ferry Drive to Woods Hole Ferry Terminal and park car in the nearby lot. Ferries run nearly every hour for $9 each way, no reservation necessary for passengers on foot. Bicycles walked on by passengers cost an additional $4 each way. Ride into either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven, either is fine, then take an Uber or taxi into Edgartown. This is the most budget friendly option. You can also bring your car across on the Steamship ferry for $81 each way. Flight

By Plane

Flying directly into Martha’s Vineyard airport is the most convenient option, but will also be more expensive. Below are the connecting airports into MVY. Once landed, take an Uber or taxi into town, no need to rent a car. Cape Air Serves the Vineyard year-round from many locations including: Boston's Logan International Airport (BOS), JFK International Airport, White Plains Westchester County Airport (HPN), New Bedford Regional Airport (EWB), Hyannis' Boardman-Polando Field (HYA) and the Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK). Jet Blue Seasonal daily service to Martha's Vineyard from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Boston Logan International (BOS), Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). American Airlines Seasonal daily service to Martha's Vineyard from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Charlotte Douglas (CLT), Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Delta Seasonal service to Martha's Vineyard from New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

Travel Note

By Plane, Bus, & Boat

If traveling from outside the Northeast and a flight is necessary, you may be looking for the most budget friendly option. This route will best suit your wallet, but note that it will require a longer day of travel. Fly direct to Boston Logan Airport via any airline that conveniences you. Reserve a seat online aboard the Peter Pan Bus direct from BOS to Woods Hole. Buses run nearly every hour and cost about $35 each way. Loading takes place right outside baggage claim. The ride is about two hours and will take you directly to the Woods Hole Ferry Terminal. Ferries run nearly every hour and the trip is 45 minutes. Once onto Martha’s Vineyard, grab an Uber or taxi to Edgartown for about $20-$30. Once you have stepped foot onto the island either by plane or ferry, there should be taxis outside each terminal to take you into Edgartown.
