Things To Do

If you happen to have a little free time while you’re in town, here are some of our favorite activities and sights in the area.
For a hot dog

For a hot dog

MICHAEL'S CHICAGO-STYLE RED HOTS, 1879 2nd Street, Highland Park, IL 60035
, (847) 432-3338

Michael’s Chicago-Style Red Hots is our Saturday hot dog spot! Fun fact: We came here right after we got engaged. Alex’s order: double dog, mustard, pickle, no relish, extra sport peppers, fries, side of Merkt’s cheese. Maja’s order: gluten-free double dog, dragged through the garden, no relish, gluten-free fries, large unsweet tea.

For your dog

For your dog

PRAIRIE WOLF DOG PARK, 1917-2075 South Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045
, (847) 367-6640

If you’re bringing your dog with you (we get it), get a day pass to Prairie Wolf Dog Park to let them experience doggie PARADISE. It’s a 44 acre dog park with a pond and fields and trails and we’re really lucky to have it nearby. A must-do for four-legged tourists! The park rangers check for permits (especially on weekends), so you’ll want to make sure to pay the $15 fee.

CHICAGO BOTANIC GARDEN, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022
, (847) 835-5440

The Chicago Botanic Garden is one of the world's great living museums and conservation science centers. We’re lucky enough to have it just a few minutes away!
