Denver is the most common airport to fly into. Steamboat is about a 3 hour drive from DIA. There are shuttle services available to get you to Steamboat should you choose not to rent a car (GoAlpine or Storm Mountain Express).

You can also fly into the Yampa Valley Regional Airport which is about 30 minutes from Steamboat. United, Delta, Southwest, American Airlines, JetBlue, and Alaska Airlines all fly into this airport. You can then book a shuttle (GoAlpine or Storm Mountain Express) or take a taxi to your lodging.
