Drakes Island Beach

We love Drakes Island Beach for its flat, expansive sandy shore and beautiful water! The full beach area is about 1 mile in length and is ideal for walking or playing games at low tide. If you're not staying on the island, you can park at either the Gross Lot on Drakes Island Road or the Jetty Lot on Island Beach Road.

Nunan's Lobster Hut

Nunan's is a family staple and the best place for casual lobster dinner. Make sure to get blueberry pie for dessert! note: they are cash only and do not take reservations

Wells Reserve at Laudholm

Beyond the main property and barn at Laudholm Farm where our wedding events will take place, there is a vast trail network contained within the Wells Reserve. The trails span many miles and connect to boardwalks, woodsy paths, and gravel roads that are great for walking or running. All paths are best accessed from the main parking lot at Laudholm Farm. Brewed Awakenings

Brewed Awakenings is our go-to coffee and breakfast sandwich spot! If you have to wait for your food, walk down the path and check out the farm behind the building. There are usually lots of friendly goats and chickens out to play!

Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge

The Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge is a network of coastal land and estuaries in Wells. There is a ~1 mile boardwalk loop from the parking lot that takes you through the scenic marshes of the refuge.

Cape Porpoise Lobster Co

Cape Porpoise Lobster has our favorite lobster roll in the area. Their outdoor deck over the water is the perfect spot for lunch on a sunny day!

Big Daddy's Ice Cream

Wheels N Waves

Wheels N Waves is a great place to rent paddle boards, surfboards, bikes, or kayaks! Drakes Island beach tends to be pretty calm and ideal for a paddle on a sunny day.

Mabel's Lobster Claw

Mabel’s Lobster Claw is a beloved Kennebunkport classic, serving Maine seafood in a waterfront setting. Located just steps from The Colony Hotel, it’s a convenient spot for guests to enjoy lobster rolls, fried clams, and other local favorites!
