FAQs

Question

What island/where are you getting married?

Answer

We are getting married on the Big Island 20-30 minutes north of the Kona airport in Waikoloa Village. Kona is the airport on the west side of the island closest to the resort we are getting married at. The address for the Marriott Resort and Spa is 69-275 Waikoloa Beach Drive, Waikoloa Beach, HI 96738.

Question

What is the best flight to get to Hawaii?

Answer

United Airlines has a nonstop flight from Denver to Kona for 7hrs and 30 mins. Southwest also has good flights to Kona. While there are a few good airlines to fly, we recommend you fly into Kona, on the west side, as it is 20-30 minutes away from the resort.

Question

Does the resort(s) have a shuttle?

Answer

Unfortunately no resort or hotel on the island has a shuttle service. We recommend reserving a rental car at the airport or ubering to Waikoloa. Uber might be a pricey ride, but if you plan on just staying at the resort then that would be an option. Both resort/hotel options are about a 30 minute car ride.

Question

What do we wear to the ceremony?

Answer

Semi Formal Beach Attire Ideas: Men - slacks and a button-down shirt Women - short or long dresses (no sand at our ceremony cite)

Question

Can we stay at a different hotel/AirBNB but still attend the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes! Guests not staying on the property who are attending will be compensated for parking at the resort. Locations for looking for an Air Bnb or VRBO would be in Waikoloa Village or Kona.

Question

What will the ceremony/reception be like?

Answer

The ceremony will be a private event at the Marriott resort. There won't be sand where we are getting married. There will be an open bar, a cocktail hour, and a buffet style dinner that includes steak and seafood.

Question

When should we come?

Answer

This is completely up to you! Kale and I will be heading to Hawaii on Thursday, July 10th. We will be at the resort Friday July 11th-Wednesday July 16th. Sunday the 13th we are doing the manta ray snorkel through the link on our website, and Monday we are planning to hang out at Hapuna beach!

Question

When should we RSVP?

Answer

We would love your RSVP by June 5th!
