Hunter says the first time he saw me was at an ECU basketball game and he remembers thinking "there's that hot blonde volleyball player." I remember him following me on instagram shortly after and thinking "wow he has nice teeth" LOL. Lucky for both of us, a few months later we were both single; I posted a picture on the boat that quickly caught Hunter's eye (the boat did, not me). He messaged me right away and that was that. A week later he made the 2.5-hour trek from Greensboro to Greenville to take me on our first date. I came straight from conditioning, no shower, and he took me to Jersey Mikes. Best sub and first date of our lives. We've been inseparable ever since. I knew I loved him when 1-week into our relationship I got a fever and he was force feeding me froyo to cool me off. He knew he loved me when, on our second date, I was eating pasta at Atavola and just knew he was going to be around forever. Our first "I love you" was on the boat that started it all a few short weeks after knowing each other. Together we made it through the last 2 years of college (go pirates!), getting our baby Bandit, moving to Sanford, buying a house, and starting our careers. When I knew we were getting ready for an engagement, I had two rules: 1) my nails better be painted and 2) I wanted my family there. He was coming home with me for Christmas and I just KNEW it would happen Christmas Day. He managed to surprise me with an elaborate story and proposed downtown Raleigh on a beautiful cobble stone street under the lights on December 23rd. Our families were hiding around the corner to celebrate us, and I only had one chipped nail. It was everything. We've travelled up and down the east coast but constantly find ourselves wanting to spend our time in Emerald Isle. We cannot wait to get married where we first fell in love surrounded by the people who love us.
