Welcome Reception

Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks.

Join us for a welcome reception at Markree Castle on the night before our wedding, as we gather to toast the start of our wedding celebrations. Enjoy cocktails and a selection of light bites as we welcome you to the castle and look ahead to the festivities of the day to come.

Our Wedding

Black-Tie: Wear floor-length gowns or formal cocktail dresses, tuxes with black neckties or bowties.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 2:30pm, so please plan to arrive early. Our ceremony will be outdoors on the Markree Castle grounds (hello, Irish summer!). July is usually the warmest month of the year in Sligo, but “warm” is still quite mild compared to many other places. While we hope for sunshine, a light jacket or wrap is always a good idea in case the breeze picks up. You may also want to choose or bring shoes that are comfortable on grass. Our wedding day will be a black-tie affair. Guests are invited to dress in formal evening wear—tuxedos or dark suits for gentlemen, and floor-length gowns or elegant cocktail dresses for ladies. While black and darker hues are always welcome, guests are encouraged to wear colors they feel confident and comfortable in; dresses need not be floor-length, as long as the overall look feels formal. We can’t wait to celebrate in style with you in such a timeless and romantic setting.
