This story is about two baristas that fell in love! Madison and Damian were two Starbucks partners working their way through grad school and nursing school. They started as coworkers with Madison making drinks on bar like a coffee robot, and Damian stocking everything around her as the team support. With the help of a friend, they discovered a shared interest in each other. As they struggled with admitting real feelings for one another, Madison finally blurted out her love for Damian's cat, Kona, which was maybe hinting at her love for him. Thankfully, Damian understood, they became official in September 2019, and the rest is history! Madison and Kona now have endless cuddles, Damian has begrudgingly accepted Madison's very difficult cat, Theodore, and they rescued a third cat together, Cosmo the Crazy. Throughout the 5+ years they have been together, Madison and Damian have been through many ups & downs, but the partnership that began as coworkers remained true. During the first year of their relationship, Madison and Damian both started their careers and survived the pandemic. As their relationship continued to grow, they decided to move in together in the fall of 2021 with all 3 cats!! They celebrated their love and explored Europe for the first time together in September 2022, having incredible experiences and drinking lots of beer at Oktoberfest. Then in 2023, this couple decided to make a big life change. Damian began to apply to CRNA programs all over the country, eventually being accepted and assigned to Fort Wayne, Indiana, a place that neither of them knew anything about! Damian and Madison made the difficult decision to leave their loved ones behind in Orlando, Florida, and make the cross-country trip to ultimately better their small family. Unfortunately, the beginning of their journey in Fort Wayne was not an easy one. Damian had to selflessly become the sole caretaker for Madison after a terrible accident, at the same time CRNA school began. Although devastating, this situation connected Damian and Madison in a way they never knew possible. As 2024 progressed, Damian knew this was the year he wanted to propose! Soon after, he bought the ring, conspired with Madison's friends to plan (and re-plan when she started to catch on), and FULLY surprised her with the proposal in September 2024. For Madison, this was an easy yes. Damian had always loved and supported her, just like he did back at Starbucks. They always knew they had each other's backs through tragedy, happiness, or even just when making coffee at home (they have 6 different coffee machines, it's that serious).
